To All Candidates Sub : Service Tax – Krishi Kalyan Cess @ 0.50% applicable on NCFM Modules with effect from June 1, 2016 As proposed in Finance Bill 2016 under Chapter VI, a new levy ‘Krishi Kalyan Cess’ shall be leviable @ 0.50% with effect from June 1, 2016. Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) vide circular No. 334/8/2016-TRU dated 29.02.2016 has clarified that the new levy shall be applicable with effect from June 1, 2016. Thus with effect from June 1, 2016 the service tax rate shall be 15%. In view of the applicability of increased service tax, the revised amount payable for NCFM modules is attached in Annexure I. This circular is effective from June 1, 2016. Annexure I
