Below are the directions for how to complete the Wordle of the gods project. Be sure to follow the directions carefully to ensure maximum points! Wordle allows you to make word clouds. You will make a word cloud that describes a god or goddess, using different sized text to indicate what you think is most important about the god or goddess. You must research your chosen god or goddess and select five words that you feel are most important about them, ten words that are of medium importance, and ten words that are of minor importance. You will need to find two pictures of the god or goddess, create the wordle about them, and write one-two paragraphs explaining why you chose each word and decided on its importance level. To create the wordle: 1. 2. 3. 4.

On any internet-ready computer, go to www.wordle.net Click on Create Click on Advanced In the text box, type each of the words that you have chosen to describe your god or goddess. After each word, type a colon : and the size you want your word. The most important words should be between 150-200, the medium importance words should be between 100 -125, and the minor importance words should be between 50-75. For example: Poseidon:175 5. When you are happy with your list, (everything is spelled and sized correctly) click on the “go” box.***

***NOTE: I STRONGLY suggest that you type your list in a word document first, then copy and paste into the wordle text box. Once you click “go,” in wordle, you will not be able to go back and fix your list without typing the whole thing over again. If you have it in word, you can work on it a little at a time, check spelling, and make changes without worrying about losing your work. 6. Your wordle will appear on the screen. You may change the layout, color, and font until you are happy. If you change something and do not like the change, you can Edit-Undo one action, but not multiple actions. 7. YOU CANNOT SAVE WORDLES AND COME BACK TO THEM – WHEN YOU ARE HAPPY WITH A WORDLE, PRINT IT OUT!!!! 8. Find two classic pictures of the god or goddess (no modern interpretations, movie pictures, or anime-style illustrations allowed) and attach them to the wordle. 9. Write a paragraph about the god/goddess that uses ALL of the words from your wordle. Be sure to highlight these words in some way (all caps, print and highlight, use the highlight feature on Word, underline, etc.) Attach this paragraph to the wordle. 10. Make sure your name is on the project before you turn it in.
