My​ ​Library​ ​Account  My​ ​Library​ ​Account​ ​allows​ ​you​ ​to​ ​see​ ​what​ ​you​ ​currently​ ​have​ ​checked​ ​out,​ ​some​ ​ILL  transactions,​ ​and​ ​any​ ​fines​ ​or​ ​holds​ ​on​ ​your​ ​account.​ ​ ​You​ ​can​ ​access​ ​it​ ​from​ ​the​ ​right  side​ ​of​ ​the​ ​library​ ​home​ ​page​ ​or​ ​the​ ​catalog.  OR​ ​ ​

 

My​ ​Account 

Once​ ​logged​ ​in,​ ​you​ ​will​ ​automatically​ ​be​ ​taken​ ​to​ ​the​ ​My​ ​Account​ ​tab,​ ​where​ ​you​ ​can  view​ ​recent​ ​account​ ​activity.​ ​ ​Clicking​ ​on​ ​the​ ​Loans​​ ​link​ ​to​ ​the​ ​left​ ​to​ ​view​ ​a​ ​list​ ​of  items​ ​checked​ ​out​ ​to​ ​you,​ ​including​ ​ILL​ ​items.​ ​From​ ​there​ ​you​ ​can​ ​choose​ ​to​ ​renew  specific​ ​items​ ​or​ ​renew​ ​everything​ ​you​ ​have​ ​checked​ ​out.​ ​If​ ​an​ ​item​ ​cannot​ ​be​ ​renewed  you​ ​will​ ​receive​ ​a​ ​message​ ​at​ ​the​ ​top​ ​of​ ​the​ ​page​ ​indicating​ ​so. 

  The​ ​Requests​ ​link​ ​shows​ ​the​ ​status​ ​of​ ​any​ ​unfulfilled​ ​ILL​ ​requests.​ ​ ​If​ ​you​ ​no​ ​longer  want​ ​an​ ​item,​ ​click​ ​the​ ​Cancel​ ​button​ ​on​ ​the​ ​right.

e-Shelf  The​ ​Pounce,​ ​UofM​ ​Campuses​ ​(MNCat),​ ​and​ ​Pounce​ ​Plus​ ​catalogs​ ​allows​ ​you​ ​to​ ​save  items​ ​on​ ​the​ ​e-Shelf.​ ​ ​The​ ​e-Shelf​ ​allows​ ​you​ ​to​ ​work​ ​with​ ​several​ ​items​ ​at​ ​a​ ​time,  printing​ ​or​ ​emailing​ ​them​ ​as​ ​well​ ​as​ ​exporting​ ​them​ ​to​ ​EndNote​ ​or​ ​other​ ​citation  managers.​ ​ ​Items​ ​are​ ​normally​ ​kept​ ​on​ ​the​ ​e-Shelf​ ​for​ ​the​ ​current​ ​session,​ ​but​ ​if​ ​you​ ​are  logged​ ​in​ ​to​ ​My​ ​Library​ ​Account,​ ​you​ ​can​ ​save​ ​items​ ​permanently​ ​and​ ​organize​ ​them  into​ ​folders. 

  To​ ​add​ ​an​ ​item​ ​to​ ​your​ ​e-Shelf,​ ​simply​ ​click​ ​the​ ​Add​ ​to​ ​e-Shelf​ ​button​ ​in-between​ ​the  item’s​ ​cover​ ​image​ ​and​ ​title.  Each​ ​item​ ​on​ ​the​ ​e-Shelf​ ​will​ ​be​ ​summarized​ ​on​ ​a​ ​line​ ​with​ ​the​ ​author​ ​or​ ​title.​ ​Pick​ ​the  items​ ​you​ ​want​ ​to​ ​work​ ​with​ ​by​ ​clicking​ ​their​ ​checkboxes​ ​(or​ ​click​ ​on​ ​the​ ​top​ ​checkbox  to​ ​pick​ ​all​ ​of​ ​them).​ ​You​ ​can​ ​drag​ ​and​ ​drop​ ​item(s)​ ​from​ ​your​ ​“Basket”​ ​to​ ​the​ ​folder(s).

The​ ​following​ ​buttons​ ​and​ ​icons​ ​are​ ​used​ ​to​ ​manage​ ​your​ ​folders.  Add​ ​a​ ​new​ ​folder​ ​under​ ​the​ ​selected​ ​folder. 

   

Rename​ ​the​ ​selected​ ​folder. 

 

Copy​ ​the​ ​selected​ ​folder​ ​into​ ​memory.​ ​The​ ​original​ ​folder​ ​will​ ​not​ ​be  changed​ ​or​ ​deleted. 

 

Paste​ ​the​ ​last​ ​folder​ ​placed​ ​into​ ​memory​ ​into​ ​the​ ​selected​ ​folder. 

 

Delete​ ​the​ ​selected​ ​folder. 

When​ ​you​ ​are​ ​signed​ ​in,​ ​additional​ ​commands​ ​are​ ​also​ ​available​ ​for​ ​managing​ ​items  between​ ​folders.   

Cut​ ​the​ ​selected​ ​item(s)​ ​and​ ​place​ ​them​ ​into​ ​memory. 

 

Copy​ ​the​ ​selected​ ​item(s)​ ​into​ ​memory. 

 

Paste​ ​the​ ​last​ ​item(s)​ ​placed​ ​into​ ​memory​ ​into​ ​the​ ​current​ ​folder.   

Add,​ ​view,​ ​or​ ​edit​ ​a​ ​note​ ​about​ ​an​ ​individual​ ​item. 

Queries  A​ ​query​ ​is​ ​a​ ​word​ ​or​ ​phrase​ ​you​ ​enter​ ​in​ ​the​ ​search​ ​engine​ ​to​ ​request​ ​information.​ ​You​ ​can​ ​do the​ ​following​ ​with​ ​your​ ​library​ ​catalog​ ​queries: ● ● ● ●

View​ ​the​ ​current​ ​session's​ ​queries​ ​and​ ​results. Save​ ​a​ ​query​ ​from​ ​the​ ​current​ ​session​ ​in​ ​order​ ​to​ ​use​ ​it​ ​later. Activate​ ​alerts​ ​on​ ​your​ ​saved​ ​queries​ ​to​ ​have​ ​them​ ​run​ ​automatically​ ​at​ ​scheduled​ ​times to​ ​provide​ ​you​ ​with​ ​updated​ ​results​ ​from​ ​queries. Activate​ ​RSS​ ​feeds​ ​to​ ​receive​ ​updates​ ​for​ ​your​ ​favorite​ ​queries.

After​ ​you​ ​build​ ​your​ ​search​ ​a​ ​Save​ ​query​​ ​link​ ​will​ ​then​ ​appear​ ​on​ ​the​ ​bottom​ ​of​ ​the​ ​left​ ​sidebar on​ ​the​ ​search​ ​results​ ​page. Clicking​ ​on​ ​the​ ​link​ ​will​ ​bring​ ​up​ ​a​ ​box​ ​allowing​ ​you​ ​to​ ​name​ ​the query,​ ​and​ ​then​ ​either​ ​save​ ​it​ ​or​ ​save​ ​it​ ​and​ ​create​ ​an​ ​alert.

Save​—This​ ​adds​ ​the​ ​search​ ​(including​ ​any​ ​applied refinements)​ ​to​ ​the​ ​list​ ​of​ ​saved​ ​queries,​ ​under​ ​the​ ​given name. Save​ ​&​ ​alert​—In​ ​addition​ ​to​ ​saving​ ​the​ ​query,​ ​this​ ​sets​ ​up​ ​an ongoing​ ​alert​ ​that​ ​will​ ​periodically​ ​notify​ ​you​ ​by​ ​email​ ​when new​ ​items​ ​are​ ​added​ ​that​ ​match​ ​the​ ​query. The​ ​Update​ ​link​ ​in​ ​the​ ​saved​ ​queries​ ​list​ ​can​ ​be​ ​used​ ​to​ ​modify​ ​an​ ​alert,​ ​or​ ​to​ ​turn​ ​a​ ​saved​ ​query into​ ​an​ ​alert.
