ENGAGEMENT OF RETIRED POLICE OFFICERS AS OFFICER ON SPECIAL DUTY Applications are invited from retired police officers of the rank Asstt. Commissioner of Police or Sr. Police Inspector as Officer on Special Duty (OSD-Sr.) and retired police Officers of the rank Police Sub-Inspector and above as Officer on Special Duty (OSD-Jr.) on contract basis for removal of encroachments on Port Land.

Persons fulfilling the following requirements may submit their applications superscribing “APPLICATION FOR ENGAGEMENT OF RETIRED POLICE OFFICERS AS OFFICER ON SPECIAL DUTY FOR REMOVAL OF ENCROACHMENT”, to the Deputy Secretary, HR Division, General Admn. Department, Mumbai Port Trust, 2nd floor, Port Bhavan, Ballard Estate, Mumbai – 400001, on or before 16.11.2017 1) Qualification/Experience:

A) Qualification i) OSD (Sr.) - Basic Degree ie. (10+2+3) from recognized university ii)
OSD (Jr.) - Minimum 10th Passed.
B) Experience : i) OSD(Sr.) : Either Retired as ACP or retired as Sr. P.I with min. 3 yrs. of service as Sr.Police Inspector. ii) OSD(Jr.) : Retired as Police Sub-Inspector and above. iii) Experience in encroachment removal will be preferred for considering in the post of OSD(Sr.) and OSD(Jr.). C) No of posts : OSD(Sr.) – 1 OSD(Jr.) – 1 2)
Age : Not more than 65 years as on 01.10.2017.
3) Duration: Initial period of contract will be 01 year, which may be extended at the discretion of the Port on same terms and conditions. 4) Job Profile 1)
To prepare a plan for prevention and removal of encroachment/ re-encroachment on Port Land.
2)
To co-ordinate with Police Authorities, MCGM, etc. and with the custodian departments of Mumbai Port.
3)
Collect the details of the existing encroachment.
4)
Identifying the encroachment to be removed.
5)
Arranging and programmes.
6)
Supervision of the plots/structures to prevent encroachment.
7)
Preparation of the reports on the encroachment and monitoring of the plots and structures.
8)
Preventing unauthorized activities in the Port area like illegal water tapping, unauthorized parking, etc.
9)
Advise on the systemization of the encroachment removal, reencroachment prevention and protection of Port Trust Land.
10)
He will be responsible for frequent round and will assist Security Division in prevention of encroachment.
11)
Any other related tasks that may be assigned by the Port Administration.
12)
They will report to Chief Security Officer.

5) Remuneration

The monthly remuneration shall not exceed `70,000/- for OSD – Sr. and `40,000/- for OSD – Jr. 6) Duty Hours :

6 days a week from 09.00 am. to 06.00 pm. (including 1 hour recess). Sunday will be weekly off. If required, he will have to work beyond duty hours. 7) Other benefits: 1) 2) 3) 4)
Casual Leave of 8 days are admissible in a year. OPD facilities and other medical facilities available in the Mumbai Port Trust Hospital except the outside referrals shall be provided only to themselves. He will be entitled for accommodation meant for Jr. Officers’ at Port Officers’ quarters on payment of rent applicable for Port employees. Reimbursement of mobile phone charges will be given as applicable upto a limit of Rs.750/- per month.
