MULBERRY/PLEASANT VIEW BI-COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES June 23, 2015 The special school board meeting was called to order by Mr. Marvin at 6:05 p.m. in the Administration Building. All members were present except Mr. Bruce. The Board went into executive session at 6: 08 p.m. to discuss personnel. The Board came out of executive session at 6:25 p.m. The motion was made by Mr. Kimes seconded by Mr. Cagle to accept resignation from Cindy Powers effective immediately. Motion carried 4-0. The motion was made by Mr. Cagle seconded by Mr. Edwards to accept resignation from Chelsey Elmore effective immediately. Motion carried 4-0. Dana Higdon, Superintendent was not present due to medical reasons, but sent a written recommendation for the employment of the attached list. The motion was made by Mr. Kimes seconded by Mr. Edwards to accept the written recommendation from Superintendent to employ Lisa Stearman as Sp. Ed. Designee for the 2015-16 School Year. Motion carried 4-0. The motion was made by Mr. Kimes seconded by Mr. Cagle to accept written recommendation from Superintendent to employ Randy Jones as extra custodial help starting July 1, 2015 for this summer ($8.51/hr). Motion carried 4-0. The motion was made by Mr. Edwards seconded by Mr. Cagle to accept written recommendation from Superintendent to employ Dexter Pearcy as Boys Basketball Coach/Teacher for the 2015-16 School Year, pending coach endorsement certification. Motion carried 4-0. The motion was made by Mr. Cagle seconded by Mr. Edwards to accept written recommendation from Superintendent to employ Arel Ferguson as Girls Basketball Coach/Teacher for the 2015-16 School Year. Motion carried 4-0. The motion was made by Mr. Edwards seconded by Mr. Kimes to accept written recommendation from Superintendent to employ Anthony Hood as Math Teacher for the 2015-16 School Year. Motion carried 4-0. The motion was made by Mr. Cagle seconded by Mr. Edwards to accept written recommendation from Superintendent to employ Lynn Burns as Counselor for the 201516 School Year. Motion carried 4-0. The motion was made by Mr. Edwards seconded by Mr. Cagle to accept written recommendation from Superintendent to employ Marie McHaffie as Jr High English Teacher for the 2015-16 School Year. Motion carried 4-0. The motion was made by Mr. Kimes seconded by Mr. Edwards to accept written recommendation from Superintendent to employ Nancy Milmon as FACS Teacher for the 2015-16 School Year. Motion carried 4-0. The motion was made by Mr. Edwards seconded by Mr. Cagle to accept written recommendation from Superintendent to employ Lyndsie Backus as K-4 Teacher for the 2015-16 School Year. Motion carried 4-0. The motion was made by Mr. Edwards seconded by Mr. Cagle to approve proposed 201516 Classified Salary Schedule additional changes (attached). Motion carried 4-0. The meeting was adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
