MAGNETOM Verio p/n 10276755 Serial no. 40101 - 40290 w/o 40133, 40138, validation system

Reason for the update

0

This Update Instruction provides instructions to prevent potential damage to the gradients when applying non-product sequences with special frequency attributes.

Explanation

0

By securing the coax cable using a "Split nut with left-hand thread", possible shaking loose of the gradient coax cables will be avoided.

Prerequisites

0

Please read through these update instructions carefully prior to planning any work activities

Fig. 10: Split nut

3. Withe a torque wrench tighten the split nut to the coax cable at 8 Nm.

Fig. 11: Split nut fastened

4. Both halves of the split nut should be flush and there should be no gap at the joints.(arrow/Fig. 12 / p. 11)

Update NOTE

If after tightening of the split nut a gap remains, remove the split nut. Attach it again, displaced by 1/8th of a revolution. Repeat this procedure until the optimal position of the split nut is achieved. By applying a torque of 8 Nm tighten it

5. Apply loctite to secure the allen screws 6. When the first of the three axes is complete, apply the same procedure to the next axis.

Update

13 Work sequence on interface panel 1. Tighten all 19 mm hex nuts (twelve in total) with the torque wrench applying a torque of 35Nm, see items 1 & 2 in (1, 2/Fig. 13 / p. 13)

Update 4. Enter QA - Expert mode - Spike check 5. Run spike check five times as proof of the successful UI implementation and compare with spike checks taken previously. There should not be any deviation.

Final Mechanical Work

0

• Install the covers in reverse order, with reference to (Fig. 2 / p. 6)and (8/Fig. 4 / p. 7)

Final Check

0

1. Run spike check again making sure the reinstalled covers do not cause spikes 2. Pack your tools away. Leave the Rf room the way you found it.

Customer Information

0

Politely inform your customer of the update you've just performed

Final Work Steps

0

1. Fill out, and if necessary, make a copy of the attached "Completion Protocol" and file it in the corresponding folder. 2. The update must be reported by authorized personnel, either via an intranet application or by automated data transfer (only in countries connected via update handling interface). 3. Take five minutes of your time and answer below questions: Prior to this UI was the torque of the coax connection at the gradient coil within spec. (90 Nm) ? X answer yes or no Y answer yes or no Z answer yes or no Prior to this UI was the torque at the lower section of the gradient cable interface panel within spec (35 Nm)? X answer yes or no Y answer yes or no Z answer yes or no Prior to this UI was the torque at the upper section of the gradient cable interface panel within spec (35 Nm)? X answer yes or no Y answer yes or no Z answer yes or no Meant are all gradient cable joints at the gradient coil and gradient cable interface panel (Fig 7 and Fig 13).
