Grades are not given, they are earned. ** Students are responsible for checking their answers on the homework during class. Always come to class with your homework completed from the previous day. You are your best advocate! If you need help, ask questions in class and seek assistance at other times when appropriate. Homework: Homework will be assigned for most class periods. You must show your work to receive credit; just writing down answers is not enough. Grading of assignments will be based on completion not correctness; you will be responsible for checking your work either by using your textbook or when I post the solutions in class. The assignments will be graded on a five-point scale, where a five is a complete assignment. Late homework is accepted for partial credit, but only up until the day of the unit test. Assignments turned in after the test will not be counted for credit. Each student is responsible for obtaining assignments they missed for absences and showing me any work that was due. Daily assignments will be posted on the calendar on my website. Tests and Quizzes: There will be at least one test given during every unit. Make-up tests must be completed within one week of scheduled test at which time a zero is given. Assessment retake guidelines: 1.) All assignments for the unit must be completed. 2.) The retake ticket must be complete. 3.) The retake assessment must be completed by the date indicated by the teacher. 4.) The retake score will replace the old score. 5.) Everyone is eligible for a retake. 6.) There will be only one retake allowed per assessment.
Expectations: Every student is expected to adhere to all school policies that are outlined in your agenda. KEEP CELL PHONE IN LOCKER OR BACKPACK. (If seen or heard after warning, phones will be taken for the remainder of the class.) The school policy on tardies will be strictly followed. Students caught cheating in this or any other manner will be given a 0 for that test and parents will be contacted. Showing respect for teachers, students, the classroom and your textbook is expected.
