Moose Jaw Wildlife Federation’s Youth and family Ice Tourney Rules MARCH 11, 2017 1. All Saskatchewan angling limits and regulations apply a. Adults will be required to have a Valid Saskatchewan Fishing License b. Adults who are not actively fishing can assist their children without a Saskatchewan Fishing License but are required to register with the organizers and are required to fish in the sanctioned area. 2. Registration for the tournament has to be completed before a fish can be caught and measured. 3. Ages 1-15 years old can qualify for a “largest fish prize” in a PERCH category, as well as an OTHER FISH (Pike/Walleye/Burbot) category. The species of fish specified below are eligible for the tournament. Adults 16 and up can also qualify for prizes in the BIG FISH category. The following is a list of tournament eligible species: ⇒ Yellow Perch (Perca flavescens) ⇒ Northern Pike (Esox lucius) ⇒ Walleye/Yellow Pickerel (Sander vitreus) ⇒ Burbot (Lota lota) 4.a. Parents are encouraged to help; your participation will not disqualify your child from landing a Winning Fish! b. Depending on the quantity available, Bait will be provided in prize bags for youth.
c. At measuring table, the individual has to declare where their fish was caught and a tournament volunteer has to witness all fish caught in sanctioned Area. d. All fish caught and measured during the event will be live released by a MJWF volunteer. e. All fish must be brought to the weigh in station and transported in a bucket containing water. f. All adults MUST be accompanied by a youth. 4. Weigh-in times are as follows a. Saturday, March 11, 2017. 10 am – 2 pm at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park Boat Launch, Buffalo Pound Lake. Cut off will be at 2:00PM at Boat Launch. 5. In the spirit of a fun, family oriented tournament, all forms of shelter will be permitted for the event. Bring your tents, shacks, etc. and enjoy the day on the ice with your family. 6. Prize break down: Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded in both youth categories. Prizes for biggest fish in youth categories: • PERCH: 25% of registration pool (dependent on number of participants registered) plus donated prize from sponsors. • OTHER FISH (Pike/Walleye/Burbot): 25% of registration pool (dependent on number of participants registered) plus donated prize from

Participants will be required to supply their own fishing equipment and bucket. Pre-registration ends on February 28th, 2017 at 9pm There is a Bar-B-Q lunch provided for all preregistered participants.
