State Certified Safety Committee Meeting

Attendees: K. Cuomo, M. Smith, A. Davis, K. Jones, L. Stang, C. Childress, T. Jayne, M. Weisgold, L. Evans, K. Guiton, L. Levin, P. Staats, C. Place(guest) Absent: C. Hoffman, T. Blaisure, M. Girjatowicz, D. Curley, M. Austin, J. Baker, B. Mallery, M. Fenton Roll Call (above): Acceptance of Minutes: Dr. Davis moved and Mrs. Evans seconded to accept the minutes from the October 25 meeting, all members were in favor. New Business: Active Shooter Drills on December 1 6:30 p.m. at Mountain View or December 9 at 9:30 a.m. at Blue Ridge High School. Mr. Mallery and Mrs. Guiton would like to attend December 1. Dr. Cuomo shared he went to this in Tunkhannock in last summer, where they showed a video which showed the impact and response. Weather Drill on December 14 at Susquehanna County EMA from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Dr. Cuomo will attend, members interested should attend. Old Business: Narcan ( Naloxone) – have. Mrs. Guiton asked what the Shakeout Drill was, this was an earthquake drill, we conducted a Tornado weather drill instead. Mrs. Levine asked the status of the School Based Health Clinic; Dr. Cuomo shared they will be opening after Christmas break, due to staffing. Letters will be sent home to parents once we have a confirmed date. Mr. Place, (guest), has a concern with parents driving on the walkway in the elementary around the buses. Will put orange cones to see if this will deter and will talk to the parent, if known. Other Items: Dr. Cuomo shared the Remind system worked well yesterday with the delay then close of school. Dr. Cuomo notified the committee our Security staffing is limited. Compensation Claims: None Adjournment: Mr. Weisgold motioned and Mr. Jayne 2nd the motion.
