Who are we?
The Roy Wilkins Center for Human Relations and Social Justice, located at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs, FOUNDED IN 1992

Our Mission ¨

Study and formulate solutions to problems of racial and ethnic inequality. Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and develops graduate curricula. Promote dialogue and provides community outreach on issues of greatest concern to communities of color Promote discussions on race, build bridges, conduct quality research, and educate students in public policy.
Workshop Content 3
What is Policy Analysis? ¨ Problem Structuring ¨ Equity vs Efficiency ¨ Evaluation ¨ Recommendation ¨ Writing Policy Memoranda ¨ Final Presentations ¨
Logistics 4
16 candidates will be selected through a short application process. ¨ For accepted participants the workshop is free of cost (reading materials, parking, light breakfast and lunch are included). ¨ Two orientation sessions: May 26 and May 27, from 8:30 to 10:00am. ¨
Logistics 5
5 day workshop from June 22 to June 26 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. ¨ Selected participants are expected to work on workshop assignments during the evenings. ¨ Participants will be evaluated by their peers. ¨ Final presentation will be at the Minneapolis Foundation on June 26. ¨
Selection Criteria 6
Preference will be given to non-for-profits serving communities of color ¨ No previous policy analysis experience is necessary ¨ Demonstrated commitment to social equity and racial/ ethnic justice ¨ Evidence of support from the organization ¨ Likelihood that the organization will experience significant benefits from participation in the program ¨
