Millard Public Schools Boundary Transition Plan The new boundaries approved by the Board of Education in December 2013 go into effect August 1, 2014. In order to find the path for your family, find each child’s grade level for the 2014-15 school year on the chart below. Please note the following parameters: *Open and Option Enrollment, In-district Transfers and Special Programs: These opportunities are not affected by the boundary changes. Any student may enroll in a Millard school with space available. Millard is a district of choice offering a range of programs including Montessori, Core, IB, Career Academies, ELL, Young Adult Program and Special Education. Students who enroll in these programs are classified as in-district transfers. *Reagan Elementary: Due to current overcrowding, Reagan Elementary is excluded from this transition plan and is listed separately below. *Grandfathering Options: Families of students currently enrolled may exercise their grandfather options as outlined below. To grandfather into a school, the student must fill out an in-district transfer form. *Closed School Attendance Areas: Once the 2014-15 school year begins, if a student attends a closed school and moves out of the closed school attendance area, the student may complete the current school year at the closed school, but will be required to attend their newly assigned school for subsequent school years. *District Sibling Rule: Siblings of district resident students who have been given the choice to stay at their previously assigned school may also attend that school as long as their sibling is still attending the previous school at the time of their enrollment. Students must fill out an in-district transfer form. *Transportation: Please note that our current policy states unless otherwise required by law, the District shall not provide transportation services to in-district transfer students (i.e., those students who, at their request, are permitted to attend a school other than the school to which they would have been assigned based upon the location of their residence).
