Postdoc in chemical ecology of multispecies mutualisms
A postdoctoral position is available to work in Elizabeth Pringle's lab on the chemical and evolutionary ecology of plantant-hemipteran interactions. Our aim is to understand how mutualisms maintained by direct and indirect metabolic exchanges drive eco-evolutionary feedbacks across scales of ecological organization, from organism to ecosystem. To do this, we combine greenhouse and field experiments with chemical and molecular approaches, including evolutionary genetics and metabolomics. A particular area of interest is determining the extent and character of genetic variation in plant phloem chemistry and its effects across multiple trophic levels. The start date is September 2016, with some flexibility in either direction. Applicants should have a PhD in biology or a related field. The ideal candidate would have training in LC/MS metabolomics and/or evolutionary genetics. A strong interest in the ecology of plants and arthropods is required. Please contact Beth Pringle (
