OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND PREPAREDNESS Medical Preparedness and Response for Bombing Incidents (MGT-348) The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness will be sponsoring two deliveries of a two-day training program titled, “Medical Preparedness and Response for Bombing Incidents (MGT-348).” The program will be delivered by the Texas Engineering Extension Service, Energetic Materials Research Testing Center at New Mexico Tech, members of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium.

Description This program is designed for first responder personnel who would be involved in the medical response to an explosive incident. Participants will be introduced to case studies and researchbased information designed to enhance medical preparedness for response to blast effects. This dual-level course includes management and performance sections. The management section will focus on pre-incident indications of bombing incidents, bombing incident scene safety and security, and resource management for bombing incidents. The performance level section will focus on bombing incident injury patterns and treatment, managing the medical response for bombing incidents, and the planning, training, and exercise cycle for bombing incidents.

Audience Emergency management, emergency medical services, fire service, governmental administrative, law enforcement, healthcare, public health, public safety communications, community volunteer, security and safety personnel.
