What I love about Green Top
Claira Salter Deputy Headteacher Teaching in Foundation Stage 2 I recently married Brett on a beach in Turkey and; we have three children, Georgia, Dexter, and Jersey May. As a family, we love holidays, weekends away and a walk along the beach. I grew up in a house full of Doncaster Rovers supporters so in our house, we watch a lot of sport, therefore Saturday afternoons are spent catching up on the results on soccer Saturday (not just for Jeff and Kammy!). When I was younger I enjoyed singing, dancing, drama and anything showbiz! As a result, I look forward to the annual Green Top’s Got Talent competition and community events to showcase the talents of the children in our school. I love listening to music and in my spare time like to entertain friends and family – I host a mean burger night in the Summer and Sunday Roast in the winter! I started at Green Top as EYFS leader in September 2008 and have continued to grow as a professional. I really love my job! For me Green Top Primary is the best school I could choose for my own children, we provide every child with opportunities to do things above and beyond their expectations. The school is so true to its values and the children are so excited by each experience they are offered. The community ethos is at the heart of everything at Green Top, children, staff, parents, governors and the wider community influence the journey and paths we choose to explore as a school. The immersive curriculum and development of learning environments has been an exciting new avenue and I am delighted to work with such a dedicated and committed team who make every learning experience exciting for the children.
Gemma Platts Foundation Stage 2 Teacher I would love to say that I had a long list of hobbies, but in all honesty my family and children take up most of my spare time. I love taking my 2 boys out and get most pleasure from seeing them having fun. Holidays are spent planning and going on family adventures. We love our film nights with popcorn under the duvet, (I think I know the words off by heart to some of their favourite films.) I do, however love to go out for meals, or enjoy a special meal in and, of course; retail therapy always goes down well! What I love about Green Top
I will always be grateful to Green Top for giving me the opportunity to re-launch my teaching career. After a few years away from education I came to school initially for a 3 week supply job. Three years later…… I’m still here! The staff and children make Green Top a unique place. The children bring in so many diverse challenges and school is always ready to meet them and move the children forward. We work closely with the families and community which, I feel , makes us a really strong unit where we can all help and rely on each other. I have loved being given the opportunity to work with the younger children in our school and it is lovely to track their progress as they movethrough school. Hopefully I will be able to do this for many years to come.
Meet the EYFS Team Rebecca Carter EYFS Class teacher I love to spend time socialising with friends and family, having fun, travelling and making new memories. I belong to a big family and so this is very easy! To relax I enjoy reading, walking and quiet breaks away. I like to revisit Cornwall and Devon often and have done since childhood. The next holiday on my list is Santorini!
What I love about Green Top
I have been teaching at Green Top for three years and feel very privileged to be part of this school community. Green Top keeps education relevant, exciting and real and encompasses the love and care children need every day. The school community nurtures respect and a passion for learning and to be part of this every day is truly great! My favourite memories so far are; being part of the Roots of Empathy programme, being part of an ever changing thematic real life curriculum and special days such as carols around the tree, celebration events and Party in the park. It’s fantastic to see the children sharing with their families!
Louise Lake EYFS Teaching Assistant in F2 I enjoy going on day trips out with my family, to the cinema and walking my dog. I also enjoy going out for family meals and my favourite place to eat is Frankie and Benny’s.
What I love about Green Top
I love the thematic approach to learning as this makes the lessons engaging and exciting for the children. I also love that the children’s opinions and choices are always taken into account, enabling them to take ownership of their learning. But the thing I love most about Green Top are all opportunities and experiences given to the children, such as the wide range of clubs, community events and trips etc.. Robyn Cooper PSA apprentice in EYFS (Reception) I aspire to be a EYFS teacher, I enjoy going out to restaurants and trying new foods. When not at work I mostly spend time with family and friends or going to motorbike racing with my Dad.
What I love about Green Top
I love how up-to date Greentop is with there policies and practises. The restorative practise that Greentop uses gives the children more of an opinion and an outlet in which they can voice that opinion. The immersive and interactive environments stimulate the children and encourage them to learn, sometimes without them even realising.

What I love about Green Top
I have worked at Green Top for many years and I have loved every minute of it. I love the break out areas children can work in during lessons which are decorated and linked to theme to stimulate their learning. I also love all the new sports facilities that are available to the children, especially the 3G pitch and the numerous sports teams which go out and represent our school. Above all I love our Green Top children as they never fail to impress me, inspire me and make me smile every day.
