2017 STATE MEDALLION TOURNAMENT PLAYER INFORMATION SHEET The Medallion Tournament will be played over four (4) days (May 4, June 1, July 6 and August 3.) Players must meet eligibility requirements (see below) and play in at least two of the four rounds. There will be 1 Low Gross winner and 1 Low Net winner for 18-hole players based on the best two scores out of four possible rounds. These two players will then represent the PLWGA at the State Medallion Tournament in January 2018. Information on the date and course will be available some time in November). Eligibility Requirements: All PLWGA dues-paying members who have three (3) posted PLWGA-sponsored game day and/or tournament rounds within the twelve (12) months prior to each Medallion round may participate. The eligibility of each player will be determined by the Tournament Committee. Entry Process: The four Medallion Tournament rounds will run concurrently with the Ladies’ Play Day monthly Low Gross/Low Net games. There is no Medallion entry fee, but the regular game day entry of $3 will still be in effect for 18-hole players. Sign up online by completing the regular PLWGA Play Day sign up form. There will be two separate selection choices for those days: • Medallion & Low Gross/Low Net and • Low Gross/Low Net following Medallion field. Medallion entrants should choose the “Medallion….…” selection. Guidelines: ❖ The USGA Rules of Golf shall govern play. ❖ Players participating in the Medallion Tournament will be assigned tee times starting on #1 Tee. ❖ All other Play Day participants will have a shotgun start and will follow the Medallion field. ❖ All holes must be played out. No X scores or conceding putts are allowed. ❖ Two scorecards will be provided: one for the Medallion Tournament and one for the Low Gross/Low Net game. Both cards must be signed and attested. Give the Medallion Tournament scorecard to Stuart Birch in the Golf Shop and the game scorecard to Game Chair Suzan Doran. ❖ DO NOT POST YOUR MEDALLION TOURNAMENT SCORE. The score for the Medallion Round will be posted for you as a Tournament score if your round is considered eligible. Ties: In the event of a tie, a scorecard playoff will occur using a combined score of the players’ lowest two (2) rounds. Cards will be matched on the basis of best scores for the last nine (9) holes, then the last six (6) holes, followed by the last three (3) holes, and if necessary, the 18th hole. A Doubt about Procedure: If a question arises about a rule use Rule 3-3a (play two balls, score both balls) and report to the Tournament Committee for a decision before signing your scorecard.
