The kit arrives as 4 panels of parts. Remove all the parts from the panels and the holes from the parts. If the part does not fall out of the panel easily then use a scalpel on the back of the panel to cut along the lines, and release the part.

Apply glue between the three layers of the wheel. The toothed wheel should go in the middle. The two round wheels are similar but one has the holes slightly closer to the middle. This wheel goes on top of the stack. Tip: Put a bolt through the middle of the wheels to help with the alignment.

The parts of bottom track are connected to each other with sprues to stop them moving round in the post. Cut the sprues off each part. The two rails stack up either side of the track and the smallest section doubles up the height of the rail.

The circle parts stack to form a funnel for the ball to roll down. The holes in these parts are off centre and should be pointed towards the start of the spiral. The wedge shaped rail section connects to the spiral using the little bridge link. The small straight section of rail sits on the outside edge of the spiral, leave a 4mm gap from the start of the spiral

Place two bolts through the handle piece in opposite direction. Add the nuts and tighten securely, one side should have two nuts. Mount the handle through the vertical part containing the direction arrows. Fix in place with a washer and a nyloc nut. Sandwich the small gear tight between two nylocs. Use the bolt to fix the big wheel in place, add a washer either side of the wheel and hold the second plate in place with the last nyloc nut. Slot the two vertical plates of the wheel arrangement into the base panel. Add the vertical panel for the spiral. Slot the bottom track into the base of the wheel and glue in place.

Press the spiral into place on the top of the vertical section. Each step of the spiral should clip under a corresponding step in the vertical. Tip: If you do one side first it is easier to align the other side Tip: Do not glue the spiral into place until you are happy with the way the marble runs down it (see following step).

Small adjustments to the entry rails and the spiral ensure that the marble runs the full length of the machine. Moving the loops of the spiral back and forth adjusts the angle and the size of the shelf at each turn. Once you are satisfied with the way the ball runs, use a cocktail stick to apply glue to the underside of the spiral, being careful not to nudge it any further.
