MANNES PREP SUMMER CHAMBER INTENSIVE 2017 Join us for a brand new Summer Chamber Intensive this August, featuring a uniquely personalized experience for young musicians! When: August 6-12, 2017 What: Students will be grouped into chamber ensembles for the week and work closely with members of Mannes Prep’s outstanding and inspiring faculty. The week features a very low student/faculty ratio, a nurturing musical community, exciting performance opportunities, and plenty of fun! All students participate in daily chamber coachings, sight-reading classes, master classes and workshops, and jam sessions. The week culminates in a student performance, open to family, friends, and the public. Who: The Chamber Intensive welcomes student applicants in grades 1-12, and is open to all instruments. Students should have note-reading skills and be able to play at least a 2-octave scale. See our Application Form for further details. Where: The program takes places in Arnhold Hall, located at 55 W. 13th Street in the heart of Greenwich Village, NYC. Arnhold Hall is part of the The New School’s urban campus and features gorgeous, newly renovated, and acoustically tuned rehearsal and performance spaces. Tuition & Fees: The tuition for the Intensive is $1500, and applicants pay a nonrefundable $75 application fee. Current Mannes Prep students receive a discounted rate of $1300, and the $75 application fee is waived. No financial aid is available for the Summer Intensive. How to Apply: Please complete our Online Application Form and pay the $75 application fee. Once you have applied, Mannes Prep will contact you by email with details about submitting a video audition. For the video, applicants should perform 2 contrasting pieces that best demonstrate their current playing level, and 1 two-octave scale of choice.
