May​ ​1,​ ​2012 Dear​ ​VBS​ ​Day​ ​Campers​ ​and​ ​Parents, Vacation​ ​Bible​ ​School​ ​ ​(July​ ​30​​ ​th​ ​–​ ​August​ ​3​​ ​rd​).​ ​ ​It​ ​promises​ ​to​ ​be​ ​a​ ​week​ ​of​ ​fun​ ​as​ ​we​ ​learn​ ​about​ ​God’s awesome​ ​love​ ​for​ ​us.​ ​ ​You​ ​will​ ​meet​ ​old​ ​friends​ ​and​ ​make​ ​new​ ​ones​ ​as​ ​we​ ​sing,​ ​play​ ​games​ ​and​ ​praise​ ​God in​ ​all​ ​that​ ​we​ ​do.​ ​ ​These​ ​are​ ​just​ ​a​ ​few​ ​reminders​ ​as​ ​we​ ​approach​ ​VBS-day. Please​ ​be​ ​at​ ​Long​ ​Lake​ ​Park​ ​ready​ ​to​ ​go​ ​by​ ​9:30​ ​a.m. Swimming​ ​gear,​ ​modest​ ​swimsuits​ ​please,​ ​towels Lunch​ ​–​ ​remember​ ​kids​ ​will​ ​be​ ​running​ ​around​ ​and​ ​might​ ​have​ ​bigger​ ​than​ ​normal​ ​appetites. Also,​ ​soda​ ​is​ ​not​ ​recommended​ ​as​ ​a​ ​drink​ ​due​ ​to​ ​the​ ​amount​ ​of​ ​time​ ​the​ ​children​ ​will​ ​be spending​ ​in​ ​the​ ​sun. Bring​ ​your​ ​own​ ​water​ ​bottle.​ ​Water​ ​and​ ​orange​ ​drink​ ​are​ ​provided​ ​throughout​ ​the​ ​day. Jacket​ ​or​ ​sweatshirt​ ​in​ ​case​ ​of​ ​cold​ ​weather. Backpack​ ​or​ ​duffel​ ​bag​ ​to​ ​carry​ ​items​ ​in. *Please​ ​mark​ ​all​​ ​of​ ​your​ ​child’s​ ​items​ ​so​ ​that​ ​they​ ​can​ ​be​ ​returned.

In​ ​case​ ​of​ ​severe​ ​weather:​ ​ ​ ​If​ ​there​ ​is​ ​a​ ​watch​ ​or​ ​warning​ ​before​ ​9:00​ ​a.m.,​ ​Day​ ​Camp​ ​will​ ​be​ ​cancelled.

Once​ ​we​ ​are​ ​out​ ​at​ ​Long​ ​Lake​ ​Park,​ ​if​ ​bad​ ​weather​ ​arrives,​ ​we​ ​will​ ​stay​ ​at​ ​the​ ​pavilion.​ ​ ​You​ ​may​ ​come​ ​pick up​ ​your​ ​child​ ​if​ ​you​ ​wish,​ ​but​ ​we​ ​will​ ​not​ ​be​ ​providing​ ​transportation. Note:​ ​ ​Mamrelund​ ​no​ ​longer​ ​has​ ​a​ ​van​ ​to​ ​provided​ ​transportation​ ​to​ ​and​ ​from​ ​VBS.​ ​ ​You​ ​will​ ​need​ ​to provide​ ​your​ ​child’s​ ​transportation​ ​to​ ​and​ ​from​ ​VBS.
