Q1: Do I have to attend my classes during the review days? What about study halls? A1: Attendance is required for ALL scheduled classes and Study Halls on June 14th and 17th. Formal attendance will be in effect for all classes through June 17th. Q2: When are appeals due for 4th quarter attendance? A2: The appeals deadline is Wednesday, June 12 at 2:30 p.m. Appeals forms are available for pick up in each of the house/dean offices. Q3: What time do I have to come to school? What time can I leave? A3: On June 14th and 17th school will start and end on at our regularly scheduled times. On June 18th, 19th, and 20th (exam days) you are expected to arrive on time for classes where you are scheduled to take an exam. If you arrange for a make-up exam on June 21st, you are expected to be on time for the exam.
FAQs continued Q4: Is transportation available on review and exam days? A4: Yes. LexPress, LPS (Yellow, C+W) buses, and METCO (Yellow, AA) buses will be running on their normal schedules during this time. The last day of late afternoon transportation for METCO buses is as follows: • Thursday, June 6th is the final day for the 6:00 PM and Tuesday/Thursday 5:30 PM bus. • METCO will run a 4:00PM earlier late bus on June 11, 12, and 13 for students needing extra help and review prior to final exams NOTE: METCO students who miss the 2:30 bus on days with no late bus will need to find their own means of transportation home. Q5: Is lunch available? A5: Yes, lunches will be served on June 14, 17, 18, 19, and 20. They will be served on June 14th and 17th (review days) according to the previous schedule. On June 18th, 19th, and 20th (final exams), lunch will be available from 10:30 to 12:00 in Commons I. No lunches will be provided on June 21st or 24th. Q6: May I leave campus to get lunch? A6: Handbook rules relative to open campus will be in effect through June 17th. 11th graders who have earned open campus privileges are eligible to leave campus for lunch. 9th and 10th graders are expected to remain on campus during lunch. Q7: Is breakfast available? A7: Yes. The cafeteria will be open for breakfast through June 21. Q8: If I do not have to make-up a final exam, do I need to come to school on Friday, June 21st? A8: Friday, June 21st is a day for students to make-up exams and/or drop in to complete final obligations with their teachers. In the event that a student has completed all requirements, s/he may opt NOT to attend school. Q9: What takes place on Monday, June 24th? A9: Students may come to school to drop off books, to check with teachers about a final exam grade, to say goodbye, etc. There is no formal schedule for the half-day. Q10: How will students and parents be made aware of this schedule? A10: In addition to posting this schedule to the LHS website, this information will be made available to students through homeroom announcements on multiple occasions. In addition to a student’s teachers discussing the schedule with particular classes, copies of this schedule will be posted in each classroom, dean’s office, and department office on campus.
