PUBLIC NOTICE – LIVE FIRING AND DRY TRAINING – LANGPORT RANGE AND DRY TRAINING AREA (LRDTA) – 6th February TO 19th February 2012. 1.
In accordance with the Langport Range Byelaws notice is herby given that: a. Live Firing. Live firing will be conducted on the Range between sunrise and sunset th th th th th th th th (normally 0900 – 1500) on 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 , 11 , 14 , 15 and 16 February 2012 and night firings th th th between dusk and 2000 on 14 ,15 and 16 February 2012 . When night firing is taking place the red flags will be replaced by red lights. b. Dry Training. Dry Training which includes the movement of troops on foot and in vehicles, the use of helicopters and the use of blank ammunition and pyrotechnics (Mon – Fri 0730 – 2300, Sat th th th th th th th th 0730 – 2300 and Sun 0900 – 1800) will take on 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 , 11 , 14 , 15 and 16 February 2012. This training will usually be confined to BREECH WOOD, but, particularly in the case of helicopter operations may also include areas of the tenanted farmland. c. Armoured and High Mobility (tracked) Vehicle Driver Training. All Terrain Vehicle (Protected) (Viking) and BV 206 driver training will take place on: None The route used for this training includes the Range, tenanted farmland and BREECH WOOD with vehicles travelling at up to 20 mph. Therefore, in order to minimise the risk to the general public when this training is taking place, all the flags will be hoisted and the out of bounds area will be the same as for live firing. The tenant farmers are requested to keep all livestock clear of the driver training circuit on these dates
2. Short Notice Changes. This programme of training activity may be subject to short notice changes in order to meet urgent operational training requirements. 3. Access Restrictions. A Map showing the restrictions in movement for the general public can be found on the ALLER, HUISH EPISCOPI and HIGH HAM parish council notice boards. In addition to the above, the testing of shotguns, deer management, vermin control and sporting and clay pigeon shooting may take place at anytime.
