DT lamp: Design guide      

 

    When  designing,  it  is  very  important  to  think  about  theme  (water,  transportation,  growth,  etc…),  continuity   or  flow  that  will  intergrade  the  different  components  of  your  lamp.  You  will  make:   1. An  isometric  drawing  to  show  the  basic  shape  for  each  component  of  your  lamp.   2. An  orthographic  drawing  with  accurate  dimensions  for  each  component.   3. A  flat  diagram  to  make  sure  you  have  enough  material  for  each  component.     Some  recommendations:   • Refer  to  the  Lamp  Materiel  Guide  handout  for  sizes  limitation.  You  dimensions  must  be  within  limit.   • Keep  your  design  simple  and  feasible.  Check  with  your  teacher  for  feasibility  and  fabrication  time.   • Base  your  design  on  the  tools  you  learned  and  what  is  available  in  the  shops.   • Think  about  access  for  your  circuit  board.  You  need  to  have  a  way  to  turn  on/off  your  LEDs  or  change   the  battery  pack.   • When  drawing  keep  all  your  components  on  separate  layer  for  clarity  and  ease  to  edit.     *  You  can  visualize  this  Rhino  File  “Lamp  Demo  2015-­‐16”  to  get  a  better  idea  of  how  to  organize  your  design.         1-­‐  Isometric  drawing   2-­‐  Orthographic  drawing   3-­‐  Flat  diagram
