Other IEP Annual Review Meetings are now in full swing, and will continue through the end of the school year. We hold a parent meeting for each student who has an IEP to plan for the next year of instruction. This includes Early Intervention students (birth to three), preschool (3-5), school age serviced in our building (Kgrade 6), and Minster students being served in county units (K- age 21). Teacher Evaluation. Much time this month has been dedicated to completing the second teacher observation cycle and holding post observation conferences. With this second phase now complete, the Proficiency on Standards (50%) portion of each teacher’s evaluation has been determined. The administrative team attended a training on March 7th as we prepare to enter the Student Growth Measures Data (50%) portion of the evaluation instrument into the eTPES system. Teachers will work on compiling their SLO data on March 24th in preparation for their final evaluation conferences, which will be held in April. We have been finalizing plans for Open House (March 12, 6:30-8:00) and Grandparents Day (March 14 afternoon for grades K-3). We will again include grandparents’ lunch for first grade students, and a musical featuring second and third grade students. On the evening of Open House, we will also feature upper elementary students demonstrating skills learned in Physical Education class. Kindergarten Screenings will be held on March 25th and 26th. We now have 67 students on our list for screening. As we plan to purchase a new mathematics text series for 2014-15, our staff is currently in the process of previewing materials. We will narrow to two vendors, and invite them to present to our math teachers in late April, before making a final decision. Team leaders are also working through a process of analyzing current assessments we use for diagnostics (required by ODE), benchmarking, and SLOs (Student Learning Objectives), as we plan for 2014-15. We are looking to find ways to increase efficiency in gathering and using our assessment data to inform instruction.
