Announcements... FORTNIGHT FOR FREEDOM The Catholic Bishops of the United States invite you to reflect on religious liberty and to consider becoming involved in the Fortnight for Freedom. The fourteen days from June 21 (the vigil of the feasts of St. John Fisher and St. Thomas More) to Independence Day have been designated a special period of prayer, education and action in support of religious freedom in this country. Here’s how you can get involved! Celebration of Freedom – Join Cardinal Wuerl and 4,000 faithful from the Archdiocese of Washington on Sunday, June 23, at 4:00 pm, at the Charles E. Smith Center, George Washington University. For details and registration, go to http://www.sacredproperty.org. Join in Prayer – everyday at 3:00 pm or anytime! “Loving Father, thank you for the gift of life and for the freedom to love and worship you. Through the power of the Holy Spirit inspire us to be your witnesses. Grant us the courage to boldly and joyfully stand in protection of our freedom. In your mercy, guard our religious freedom so we may continue to live out our faith and transform the world in which we live. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

PARISH ACTIVITIES/ PROGRAMS Daily Eucharistic Adoration Hours Extended Starting tomorrow, June 11, the hours for Eucharistic Adoration on Mondays through Fridays will be extended until 6:00 pm with Benediction at 5:45 pm on First Fridays of the month. We need “adorers” or people who will faithfully commit to spending a specific block of time between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm visiting with Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. PLEASE sign up for this ministry by calling Joe Murphy at 301-762-2418. Remember that the Blessed Sacrament must NEVER be left unattended. An hour or two a week spent in quiet prayer before the Blessed Sacrament is a perfect way to keep proper focus in our lives. Why not give it a try!

Father’s Day Mass Remembrance In appreciation for all that our fathers do and have done for us, we are offering you the opportunity to have them and their intentions remembered at all the Masses on Father’s Day, June 17, and continuing throughout the month.

Friday 9 am Mass With St. Mary’s school year ending on June 8, the Friday 9 am Mass will be in Our Lady’s Chapel again starting June 15.
