Minshew friends,

Upcoming Dates:

Minshew students put on an amazing Talent Show! Thank you to Coach Kirk, Mr. Rushing, the Minshew Staff, and Ryan Schrick for working so hard to make the show a success. We are proud to report that all three PTA budget amendments were approved by our general members. Thank you for your support! This means we will be ordering a Minshew Mascot, a new Bass Xylophone, and the rubber mats for the new Gaga pit. Stay tuned for an update regarding delivery of all our new equipment! Our last reminder is regarding the 2018-2019 Minshew PTA Board. PTA is already planning for next year’s board and we need your help. Please consider joining our team and know it truly makes a difference to our students and school. The Interest Survey went home in your student’s red folder and the deadline for submission is February 16th. For questions please email us at [email protected].

Congratulations to

Sarah Jenkins Our PTA Volunteer of the Month for January Thank you Sarah for giving so much of your time to help out at Minshew!

Amazing Minshew Families, Thank you for sending us the best kids on the universe. We are constantly blessed by their kind and compassionate acts, respectful manners, and growing minds. As we walk through the hallways we experience the endless joys of a wonderful career. We couldn't ask for anything more gratifying. Safety is at the top of our priority list! Last week, we had our monthly fire drill. When there was a blocked exit, our 3rd graders didn’t bat an eye. They quickly responded and found an alternate exit. What an awesome group of kiddos we have at Minshew! The students have been reading Bluebonnet books left and right and will be participating in Bluebonnet voting soon! It’s so exciting to vote for their favorite book and experience the anticipation of the winning book each year!

PTA Board Volunteer of the Month

Ryan Schrick Many thanks to Ryan for her excellent work on the recent talent show!

There will be no school on Monday, February 19th. The faculty will be learning new strategies and engaging in growing opportunities together.

As we contemplate our New Year resolutions this month we’d like to remind you: The New Year brings Another opportunity to join the PTA! It will be the best $10/person you spend all semester.

Spring pictures are coming up on February 21st; we look forward to seeing those awesome smiles for class pictures!

If you are so inclined, you can find a form at MinshewPTA.info – click on “forms” at the bottom of the screen.

** On Tuesday, February 27th we will celebrate Read Across America with our students, McKinney ISD, and the community. Read Across America focuses the country's attention on how important it is to motivate children to read in addition to helping them master basic skills, and we’re happy to be a part of that. Be sure to ask your child who read to them!

Our doors are always open. We deeply appreciate your support and thank you for the privilege of working with your child each and every day. Your Minshew Leadership, Inetra Nelson and Mandy Bourland

Sunshine Lunch Winner for January Zoe Edwards Thank you for your time in behalf of our students & their teachers!
