Isotope Geochemistry and Cosmochemistry Postdoctoral Scholar Positions Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences University of California, Davis Posted 3/4/2014 The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences (formerly Geology Department) at the University of California, Davis, seeks to fill two postdoctoral scholar positions in the area of Isotope Geochemistry and Cosmochemistry (http://geology.ucdavis.edu/people/faculty/yin.php). The positions are available immediately and will remain open until filled. Experience in clean lab and high precision mass spectrometry is highly desirable. Applicants with a background in analytical geochemistry and quantitative skills are strongly encouraged to apply. Salary range will commensurate with qualifications and UC Davis pay scale for the position. Initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal for up to three years, pending demonstrated progress and availability of funding. Candidates are expected to perform on broadly defined research projects in the area of isotope geochemistry and cosmochemistry, but are strongly encouraged to bring and formulate their own research ideas. The incumbents will have in house access to a Picotrace clean lab, high-resolution single collector (Element XR), multicollector ICP-MS (Neptune Plus), TIMS (Triton Plus), laser ablation system for solid sampling (Photon Machines 193 Analyte, a UV Excimer Laser), and NanoSIMS facility at nearby Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for collaborative research projects.
