THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF LATVIA (ISL) WAS FOUNDED IN 1994 AND IS AN INDEPENDENT CO-‐EDUCATIONAL, NON-‐PROFIT, COLLEGE PREPARATORY DAY SCHOOL. ISL OFFERS AN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN OF ALL NATIONALITIES FROM 3 YEARS TO 18 YEARS OF AGE. THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY ISL has enjoyed rapid growth within the past two years, and today has a purpose-‐ built, state-‐of-‐the-‐art campus. Our campus serves over 350 students Preschool 3 through Grade 12. Currently, the student body is composed of 34 na*onali*es. ISL FACULTY The ISL faculty consists of staff and faculty from Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, India, Latvia, the United States, and the United Kingdom. ISL offers a student-‐faculty ra*o of 4 to 1 with an average class size of 16.

ISL strives for academic excellence; and to prepare its students for successful life-‐long learning, to think cri*cally and crea*vely, to act with integrity and responsibility, and School Counselor to appreciate human diversity. IB CONTINUUM SCHOOL ISL is an Interna*onal Baccalaureate Con*nuum School offering all three IB programs: Primary Years (Preparatory-‐Grade 5), Middle Years (Grade 6-‐10) and the Diploma Program (Grades 11 & 12). Students in Grades 9-‐12 follow a college-‐ preparatory program leading to the IB Diploma or the ISL Diploma. CO-‐CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ISL offers a vast array of spor*ng, service, cultural and personal enrichment ac*vi*es. Among them: Model United Na*ons, Student Council, Russian Club, Robo*cs and student-‐led ac*vi*es: Children’s Hospital Visits, Orphanage Service Group, and the “Run for the Kids” benefit.

High School Programs High School Overview Our High School consists of students from Grades 9 to 12. In the first two years of High School, students gain independence and ini*a*ve as they become more involved in the leadership of the student body. They also prepare for the Diploma Program in Grades 11 and 12. College Counseling Program An important part of these final years is our college counseling program, which assists students in finding the right path in their future studies. Graduates of ISL have been accepted into many pres*gious universi*es. High School Advisory ISL’s High School Advisory program supports the social and emo*onal part of a student’s life. It plays a cri*cal role in students’ development. The High School Advisory program: • ensures that each student is known well by a teacher • helps students be successful in academics and in life • promotes healthy communica*on
