MANAGING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY MAGAZINE RANKS FIVE SNELL & WILMER ATTORNEYS AS “IP STARS” TWO YEARS IN A ROW PHOENIX (June 22, 2016) – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that for the second year in a row, the same five attorneys at the firm have been ranked in Managing Intellectual Property magazine as “IP Stars.” In addition, the Arizona offices of Snell & Wilmer were recognized as a “highly recommended firm” in the Intellectual Property practice area. Grant T. Langton is a partner in the firm’s intellectual property group and serves as Chair of the intellectual property group in Los Angeles and Co-Chair of the intellectual property group in California. With over 20 years of experience handling patent prosecution, trademark prosecution, enforcement, licensing and IP counseling Grant helps clients strategically develop, protect, maintain and exploit their intellectual property assets both domestically and abroad. Grant regularly counsels clients on matters related to patentability, design-around options and the infringement, validity and enforceability of patents. He has extensive experience prosecuting patent and trademark applications in the U.S. and worldwide, and has prepared licensing, Grant T. Langton consulting, employment, confidentiality, technology and product development agreements. In addition, Grant has assisted in-house counsel, chief executive, financial and technology officers and other corporate leaders to build, preserve and monetize their intellectual property portfolios. Working closely with management, scientists and engineers Grant has acted as de-facto Chief Patent Counsel for several Fortune 500 companies. By protecting core company technology Grant helps his clients gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Throughout his career, Grant has prepared and prosecuted U.S. and foreign patent applications and handled large patent portfolios in a in a diverse range of technology areas including medical devices such as pacemakers and spinal implants, material science such as ultra-hard material microstructures for subterranean drilling, all aspects of automobile technology, semiconductor and LED technology, fluid handling technology, polymer science such as industrial coating compositions, adhesives technology, RFID technology, and all types of mechanical technologies.

Sid Leach focuses his practice on intellectual property, patent and technology litigation, especially in the area of electronics and computer technology. He has litigated patent cases, trade secret cases, trademark cases, proceedings before the International Trade Commission, Patent Office interference proceedings, and copyright cases, including ex parte seizures of infringing goods, as well as deceptive trade practices and contract cases. He defended against multiple district court suits and ITC proceedings brought against electronics manufacturers by patent trolls. He represented a publicly held electronics manufacturer in a number of patent cases involving litigation over patents covering math coprocessor chips, EPROMs, microprocessors, Sid Leach semiconductor manufacturing methods, DRAMs, sense amplifier circuits, and read-only memories, and successfully represented the same client in ITC proceedings. A speech that he gave at the annual meeting of the American Intellectual Property Law Association was cited in testimony before Congress that led to the enactment of the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016. David E. Rogers is a registered patent attorney who has been practicing for over 20 years. He focuses on patent, trademark, trade secret and unfair competition litigation; trademark and domain name disputes; patent and trademark preparation and prosecution; and preparing manufacturing and technology contracts. He has litigated or arbitrated numerous patent, trademark, unfair competition, copyright and contract cases for both plaintiffs and defendants, including: bringing and defending lawsuits for trademark infringement, dilution and unfair competition, defending lawsuits by patent trolls, the ex parte seizure of infringing goods, and representing patent owners in suits against competitors. He has shut down numerous internet infringers in the U.S. and internationally, and has prosecuted over 100 trademark oppositions and cancellations. Howard I.
