1. India has applied for financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Climate Adaptation in Vennar Sub-Basin in Cauvery Delta Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB. 2. The Water Resources Department, Lower Cauvery Basin Circle, represented by the Office of the Superintending Engineer Thanjavur, Tamilnadu (“the Employer”) invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the construction and completion of Infrastructure Improvement and Reconstruction Works on Valavanar Drain from LS 0 Km to LS 16.450 Km (“the Works”). 3. National Competitive Bidding will be conducted using ADB's Single-Stage: TwoEnvelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible countries as described in the Bidding Document. 4. Only eligible Bidders with the following key qualifications should participate in this bidding:  



Participation in at least one contract that have been substantially completed within the last Five years and similar to the proposed works, where the value of the Bidder’s participation exceeds INR.327 million. Minimum construction experience in the following key activities: (i) Earthen bund formation including compaction of quantity not less than 131,000 m3 with slope protection layers for canals or river banks or storage reservoirs. (ii) Construction of Regulating structures and cross masonry structures in irrigation works in Plain Cement Concrete / Reinforced cement concrete with quantum of not less than 7050 m3 in one project consisting of infrastructural improvements in a river / canal Minimum average annual construction turnover of INR273 million within the last three (3) years.

Write to address above requesting the bidding documents for Infrastructure Improvement and Reconstruction Works on Valavanar Drain from LS 0 Km to LS 16.450 Km Package No. CW 5 - CAVSCD/TN/VNR.



Pay a non-refundable fee of Indian Rupees 15000 plus VAT Rs.750 in two separate demand draft drawn in favour of Executive Engineer, WRD, Vennar Basin Division, Thiruvarur payable at State Bank of India, Thiruvarur Branch.



The bidding documents can also be downloaded free of cost from the Executing Agency website www.tenders.tn.gov.in. Bidders using downloaded bid documents do not have to submit a fee.



The bid document will be available from 4 February 2016 at the above mentioned address.



Upon receipt of appropriate evidence of payment of the non-refundable fee, the bid documents will be promptly dispatched by courier. An additional courier charge of Rupees 4000 is payable for couriering the document. However, no liability will be accepted for their loss or late delivery.
