Homework Policy • • •
• • • •
Homework is an essential part of your success in this course and MUST be completed in PENCIL. Homework will be given daily and will be due at the beginning of the next class. YOU will check your homework at the beginning of every class period. I prefer you do this with a COLORED PEN so you can easily see the errors you made when referencing your work and/or utilizing it as a study tool. → Take PRIDE in your work and LEARN from your mistakes. Homework is worth 4 points. (4 for 100% completion, 2 for half completion, 0 for less than half completion). Show all work to get full credit!) NO LATE HOMEWORK will be accepted (Except for an EXCUSED absence.) IF ABSENT: Assignments must be turned in within a week of returning to school, otherwise no credit will be given. Absent students must go to my Webpage (located on tphs.net) to locate the homework assignment(s) they missed on a given day(s).
Testing Policy • • •
Use of cell phone on a quiz/test will result in a ZERO for that quiz or test and a referral will be given. Tests cannot be taken home, however we will thoroughly review tests after they are graded. IF ABSENT: Tests/Quizzes must be made up within one week of your return to school with an EXCUSED absence. If it is NOT made up within a week it will be entered as a ZERO.
Discipline Policy •
Failure to follow the classroom expectations could have the following consequences: Confiscation of electronics, parent/guardian contact, detention, campus beautification, or referral to an administrator.
Academic Honesty
Note: The following policies apply EVEN IF YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR TEST/QUIZ AND TURNED IT IN.
•
DON’T CHEAT, OR LOOK LIKE YOU ARE CHEATING. The Torrey Pines Academic Honesty Policy is strictly enforced. The use of cell phones on a quiz/test day IS CONSIDERED CHEATING and will result in a ZERO for that quiz/test. Talking during a quiz or test FOR ANY REASON will result in a ZERO. (Remember, I do not know what you are talking about, therefore, any talking will be considered cheating). Parents and administration will be contacted immediately after any cheating incident.
