Member Activities Free inside talk webinars are available throughout the year on the IMA website at imanet.org/programs. The majority of these webinars are eligible for CPE approved by both the IMA and NASBA (National state Board of Accountancy). Members are encouraged take advantage of these benefits offered by the IMA. Rolf Jaehnigen, our past president went to the IMA board meeting on Saturday June 23, 2012. The attendance was great and the meeting went well. The following day, he attended the SCMS Board of Governors meeting and had a gathering of many IMA and SCMS members at his suite. He sure had a great time that weekend. Congratulations to Brenda C. Alvarez on becoming the new Secretary for the IMA Polk County Florida Chapter board. Brenda is already very active and has attended her first board meeting last month. Jack Arnold recently got home from his (hopefully) last surgery in his battle with stage 3 colon cancer. He has a few more tests to go and looks forward to resume his activity with the chapter, hopefully soon. Get well soon Jack.

Employment Opportunity Jack Arnold is the chapter’s employment director. Contact him at 863-646-0146 or [email protected] if you are looking for employment or have information about a job opportunity. The chapter does not do any interviewing or screening. We will serve as a collector of requests.

IMA Blood Bank Program The Polk County Florida Chapter has a blood program which began in 1976. Over the years a number of our members have donated blood on a regular basis. At one point we reached a total of about 300 pints. We gave 100 pints back to be used for anyone in need. We still have over 200 pints. This blood is available to any member or their immediate family. With the high costs of medical care, this program could save a member some costs. We hope no one needs it, but if someone does, contact Ken Smith at 863-738-2481. If any member wishes to donate, advise the donation center that their donation is for the “IMA” account.
