2017 NYC Mayor’s Wrestling Championships Saturday, January 21st The NYC Mayor’s Wrestling Championships will bring together New York City’s top high school wrestlers from NYC’s Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL), Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) and New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) as they compete for the title of “Best in the City.” Venue: York College - 160-02 Liberty Avenue, Jamaica, NY 11451 Schedule: 8am – 9am: Weigh-ins for all weight classes 10am-12pm Preliminary Rounds 12pm- 2pm: Quarterfinals & Consolation Rd of 8 2pm-3pm: Consolation Quarterfinals 3pm-4:30pm: Semifinals & Consolation Semifinals 5pm-6:30pm: 3rd, 5th, 7th 7pm-9:00pm: Championship Finals (NOTE: Only competitors, volunteers, and Coaches WITH a floor pass will be permitted on the arena floor) Event Website The most up-to-date information regarding the event including photos, videos, pole positions and news articles can be found at Facebook.com/NYCMayorsCup. Eligibility In order to be eligible to be nominated to compete in the NYC Mayor's Cup Wrestling Championships a student-athlete must be must be an active member of CHSAA, PSAL or NYSAIS high school wrestling team and must be nominated by his / her coach. 16 wrestlers will be selected per weight class. The PSAL shall get nine spots, the CHSAA four spots, and NYSAIS three spots. Nomination Deadline The nomination deadline is midnight on Monday, January 16th. Each association shall submit their selections and alternates by midnight on Tuesday, January 17th. The seeding meeting will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, January 19th at the PSAL offices (44-36 Vernon Blvd, 4th Floor). Coaches must submit nominations using the official NYC Mayor’s Cup Nomination Form, which can be downloaded HERE (Brackets from 2016 Mayor’s Cup can be found HERE).
