CHARGING POLICY Revised September 2017

This Charging Policy informs staff and parents about charging for School activities. It conforms to the requirements of the guidance detailed in ‘ A Guide to the Law for School Governors’ Will not charge for books, materials, equipment and instruction in connection with the National Curriculum or Statutory Religious Education taught at school, except where parents have indicated in advance their wish to purchase the product. Will charge 20 pence per day for the healthy break time snack. Will Charge £1.50 for Baby and Toddler Group Will charge £2.00 for water bottles Will Charge for Pre School Wraparound and Additional Sessions as follows:   

Will charge the following “Top Up” Fees in respect of 30 Hour Child Care in Pre School: 

£3.00 for 45 minutes

Will charge an annual one off payment of £5.00 for Magic Breakfast Provision Will Charge £5.00 per day for After School Club Will ask parents to make a contribution towards replacing damaged or lost school property caused wilfully or negligently by their children. The charge for books lost at home is £2.00. May charge for school time activities such as performances, visits and instrumental tuition by inviting parents and others to make voluntary contributions to enable school funds go further. Children of parents who do not contribute will not be treated differently from those who do make contributions Will have the right to cancel an activity if there are insufficient voluntary contributions to make the activity possible. May charge for board and lodgings on residential courses which take place mainly in school time, except for pupils whose parents are receiving: Income Support; Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance; Support under Part V1 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999; or Child Tax Credit (providing that they do not also receive Working Tax Credit and have an annual income assessed by The Inland Revenue, that does not exceed the particular value stated for the current financial year) The Headteacher will inform parents of the right to claim free activities if they are receiving these benefits. A charge will be made for the Year 6 PGL residential week-end. Families suffering extreme hardship may apply for assistance in this respect by writing in confidence to the Headteacher

May charge for activities (optional extras), which happen outside school hours when these activities are not necessary part of the National Curriculum. May permit organisations to charge parents when such an organisation is acting independently of the school or the LEA, to arrange an activity to take place during school hours and parents want their children to join in the activity. Parents must then ask the school to agree to their child being absent. Will charge for the hire of the school premises under the lettings policy, which the Governors will review on an annual basis.
