ITU/EBU/BNE/DVB supports implementation of DTT networks in Africa, Middle East and Asia December 8th, 2016
A workshop organised by ITU/EBU/BNE/DVB at the ITU Headquarters on October 27 to share experience, tools and best practices with countries currently looking at establishing Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting Networks (DTT) s in Africa, Middle East and Africa. The workshop attracted some 70 participants from across the world.
The agenda gave a comprehensive overview of the status of DTT implementation across the world, licensing models, the ITU handbook on DTT, network specifications, receiving equipment specifications and testing, and the importance of DTT networks to support local content production. The evaluation of the workshop was very positive and indicated the need to arrange several follow-up events in Africa and Middle East in the coming year. Workshop presentations are available on the ITU web here. For more information, please contact: Lars Backlund, Secretary General, Broadcast Networks Europe
