All entrants must be current financial members of Illawarra Quilters Incorporated at the time of entry and at the time of the Exhibition. Members are invited to enter up to TWO quilts to be judged in the Exhibition. Members are also invited to enter up to TWO quilts for display purposes. A maximum of four quilts per member will be hung, as per available space. The maximum number of quilts to be hung is 90 so please nominate your preference (1st and 2nd) for selection in case we have more quilts than we can hang. Note quilts for judging will have hanging preference over display quilts and the Exhibition Committee will determine which display quilts will hang if there are more than 90 quilt entries, or if there is insufficient space. A separate entry form is to be provided for each quilt entered. Quilts entered for judging must have been completed within the last two years and have NOT won a major award (Best of Show or 1st place) at a previous state, national or international quilt show or exhibition judged by accredited quilt judges. Previous award winning quilts may be hung in the ‘Display Only’ category. Each entry must include quilt details and a clear photograph (minimum size 10cm x 15cm) of the entered quilt showing the entire quilt up to whatever stage it is at, at the time of entry. All photographs are to be labelled on the back with the name of the quilt, the entrant’s full name, and the hanging direction of the quilt, i.e. indicate the TOP of the quilt. A set of quilts that form a unified piece will be accepted as one entry but the overall size of the unified pieces must fall within the size parameters for the selected category. Whilst all due care will be taken with quilts entered, Illawarra Quilters Inc. does not accept responsibility for the safety of exhibited items. Insurance for quilts entered is at the owner’s discretion. All quilts for judging need to fit within the prescribed size range. Entry forms must be received no later than 27th July 2018 and may be posted or scanned and emailed to Illawarra Quilters Incorporated. All emailed entries have the same requirements as paper entries including the entry form and a photograph. Photographs are to be sent via a jpeg file and must clearly identify the entrant’s name and the name of the quilt. Post to Illawarra Quilters Inc. PO Box 161, Figtree 2525 Email to [email protected] The decision for the choice of category entered is the sole responsibility of the entrant. All quilts to be JUDGED must have an identified category or they will not be entered for judging. If the number of entries in any one category is less than 3, these quilts may be moved to another category at the discretion of the Exhibition Committee and in consultation with the Judges. All quilts must be provided with a hanging sleeve on the back, with a minimum finished depth of at least 8cm. Information on how to add a sleeve can be found at the following links http://www.quiltweek.com/hanging-sleeve-instructions/ or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bF81VRK4ilw A label identifying the maker is to be securely sewn onto the back of the quilt and then hidden by a temporary fabric cover that obscures all references to the quilt maker. If entering the category ‘Entrants Quilt Top, Quilted by Another’ the prize is awarded to the entrant with the quilter acknowledged.

Delivery and Collection of All Entries Entrants will receive an email/letter following receipt of your entry by Illawarra Quilters. This will contain the name and details of a Drop-off-Person near you where you will drop off and pick up your quilt. Illawarra Quilters Inc. is a volunteer organisation and entrants do not pay a fee to exhibit their quilt/s. However we need the help of entrants to enable the running of the Exhibition. It is therefore a requirement that every entrant will volunteer to attend at least one 2¼ hour shift. Clearly indicate on the entry form whether your quilt is entered for Judging or Display Only. Any quilt entered in the Display Only category must be no larger than 290cm x 290cm. Illawarra Quilters Incorporated reserves the right to photograph your quilt/s for our records and to use those photographs for publicity purposes such as in our newsletter, on our website or Instagram and Facebook accounts. Visitors are also permitted to photograph quilts for personal use provided the quilt maker/s and designers (if applicable) are acknowledged.

By exhibiting in the 2018 Illawarra Quilters Incorporated Quilt Exhibition you are agreeing to these Conditions of Entry.
