Inter-Lakes High School Wednesday April 19, 2017
To affect the quality of the day, that is the highest of arts. ~Henry David Thoreau Happy birthday to Natalia Sousa who celebrates today! Mrs. White’s birthday is this Friday, April 21st and she has requested a very special gift that we would love to be able to honor her with. Let’s all get to school ON TIME on Friday! 100% on time! Attention seniors: Today is your last day to vote for the Babe Ruth graduation award. Ballots were emailed last week. The ILHS Interact Club is collecting gently worn prom attire for NH teens. If you have semi-formal dresses, suits, collared shirts, ties, shoes, unopened makeup, perfume or cologne please drop off in Ms. Brusseau's room by tomorrow. This Saturday, April 22nd, the Faith Hope and Love Foundation will be giving out FREE prom items to any NH high school youth on Saturday, April 22nd at the Hartman Union Building at Plymouth State University from 1-4 PM. If you need prom attire, semi-formal attire or even interview outfits check out this event! This Friday, April 21st, a national student-led movement called the Day of Silence will involve thousands of students across the country. The day calls attention to bullying and harassment that can discourage us from being who we are based on our gender or who we love. On Friday, the Inter-Lakes Equality Squad invites you to break the silence with us. Wear rainbow colors, grab a sticker or arm band, rally your friends and renew your personal commitment to speak up for the freedom of all of us. Middle Tier Destination Imagination Destroyers Team is busy fundraising for their trip to the Destination Imagination GLOBAL Tournament in Tennessee in May. They will be having a BINGO night tomorrow, April 20th from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Elementary School. There will be a 50/50 cash raffle, bracelets for sale, a silent auction, bake sale and snacks. Hope to see you there! Destination Imagination is a cause-driven, volunteer-led non-profit organization dedicated to teaching students the creative process through science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) and service learning challenges. As a matter of good hygiene, students are asked to take all clothing out of lockers to be taken home and washed over vacation. Items left behind in the lunch room and about the building have been brought to the Lost and Found bin which is located in the Cafeteria on the first floor of the high school. There are many coats, jackets and water bottles that will be donated to charity at the end of the week. There may be items belonging to you that you don’t realize are missing.
