BOARD MEETINGS
School board meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Ingleside Administration Building located at 2664 San Angelo. The public is encouraged to attend.

Leon Taylor Junior High School Grades 7-8
First opened for the 2006-2007 school year, it is the district’s newest addition. Covering 76,310 sq ft, this campus served 475 students from Early Childhood to First Grade with a maximum student capacity of 750. In addition to a gym, library, cafeteria, and other activity rooms, Ingleside Primary boasts over 30 classrooms, each one equipped with a restroom.
Leon Taylor Junior High School was built in 1979 and has 26 classrooms, a gym, art room, library, and two computer labs. In 2007 a new cafeteria was completed that serves about 350 pupils. In recent years, the athletic programs have brought home district championships in football, volleyball, track, as well as in boys and girls basketball multiple times.

Ingleside High School
Children walk down Technology Road or stroll down Resource Center Dr., two of the many educational “neighborhoods” of GJM. Where will an education take your child? At GJM the possibilities are endless. Innovatively designed to simulate a miniature “city”, each grade level cluster enables students to thrive and explore new possibilities as they learn life lessons in addition to their core curriculum. GJM opened in August 1998 and serves about 520 students.

In 1987 the entire campus was completely renovated. In 1993, eleven new classrooms and an administrative office were constructed. The motto “Catch the Wave to Academic Excellence” reflects the dynamic learning environment on campus which inspires students and faculty alike to strive hard to reach their goals. The campus has a total of 40 classrooms, a gym, library, computer lab, and a cafeteria. It currently serves approximately 350 students.
Grades 9-12
The basic complex was built in 1965. In 1985, the school district added 18 new classrooms and a library. In 1991, a new band hall was constructed. A new gymnasium was opened in 1998. Facilities now include a total of 40 classrooms, two gyms, 2 band halls, a cafeteria, a library, welding shop, woodworking-cabinet shop, and three computer labs. The campus serves about 600 students in grades 9-12.
Administration Building
Completed in 2008 a new administration building adorns San Angelo Street and houses the district’s administrative staff. The entryway design contains elements that echo those of one of the original school campuses: Elizabeth Cook Elementary. In addition to staff offices, the building includes a large meeting / board room that seats over 50 people.

INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES Ingleside I.S.D. strives to continuously improve on behalf of all students. Mutual understanding and respect characterize our comprehensive efforts to provide quality educational opportunities. The following services are available: The Technology Department provides leadership for the school division in the planned implementation of new technologies as well as effective use of current technologies, support and repair services for the school district (including the student’s role as learner), and training for employees in the effective use of such technologies. The Special Education Department provides oversight for all Ingleside school programs for students with disabilities as well as related services for the entire school population. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) mandates a free and appropriate public education for all students with disabilities. Title I is a federally funded program that serves educationally challenged students in three schools (PK-6) in Ingleside I.S.D. Each campus uses creative and innovative methods to assist and meet the students’ needs in core subject areas. The Staff Development Program provides training to all school personnel based on state requirements and teachers’ expressed needs, as well as needs perceived by the administration. They are held throughout the year and during the summer. Additional programs: Dyslexia & 504 Programs; Library & Media Services; Pre-Kindergarten Program; State Compensatory Program Optional Extended Year Program; Tutorial Program; National School Breakfast and Lunch Program; Health Services and Health Education; Child Find "One-to-one learning is about much more than just giving kids devices," said Superintendent Troy Mircovich. "It's about delivering rich, relevant content that truly engages students in their learning, both in and out of the classroom" (Curriculumloft, 2013). “All curriculum and most textbooks will now be pushed wirelessly to each student’s tablet where they can work on their assignments in the classroom or at home. CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION In order to instill excellence for all and involve students, families, and the community together, our instructional program and curriculum is committed to a belief that all children are entitled to an education tailored to their ability to learn. Ingleside I.S.D. offers the following: The English as a Second Language (ESL) Program assists students with limited English proficiency (LEP) in acquiring the English skills necessary to be successful in their mainstream classes. The Gifted and Talented Program provides appropriate differentiated instructional services in the regular K-12 classroom by adapting the core curriculum for identified gifted students in the classroom.
INGLESIDE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT “All Students Will Succeed”
The Safe and Drug Free Schools Program provides each campus funds to adopt and carry out a comprehensive drug and violence prevention program, promote safety, and create a disciplined environment conducive to learning. The Career and Technology (CATE) Program offers effective career and technology education programs that prepare students for further education and eventual employment. It complements and enhances academic preparation by enabling students to apply academic principles to a variety of community and career situations. Extracurricular activities run the full gamut for self-expression and development, which range from UIL spelling contests to debating competitions to dramatic performances, to band and choir competitions, as well as a wide selection of athletics choices for young men and women. EXCITING NEWS!!! For the 2013-14 school year Ingleside ISD implement a new digital learning initiative through which all students in grades 7-12 will receive Android-based KUNO tablets. Working with Engaging Solutions of Katy, TX, Ingleside will be implementing a districtwide curriculum management system (CMS) called CurriculumLoft, that integrates with the tablets so students can work anytime and anywhere, even if they don't have Internet access. "Ingleside ISD has also been selected by CurriculumLoft to be a Champion District in Texas," said Erica Steitenroth, CEO of Engaging Solutions. "Under the Champion Program, Ingleside teachers and administrators will receive extensive staff development and training on how to incorporate this new technology into their classrooms." (cont…)
