Preschool Promise – In partnership with five preschool programs in three communities (Astoria, St. Helens, & Tillamook), 78 additional three and four year olds attended a high-quality preschool program for free starting September 2016. See reverse for additional information. Kindercamps – Partnering with nine school districts, 250 incoming kindergarteners received a one to two week camp in August 2016 to get a head start on learning school routines, continuing to develop writing, reading, & math skills, and getting to know the school and its staff. The camps also offered an opportunity for 125 parents and caretakers to connect with the school through parent sessions, kinder ready workshops, and camp graduation celebrations. Early Childhood Health & Education Screening Fairs- Since November 2015, the early learning hub has participated and supported community collaborations in all three counties to provide screening fairs where over 300 children under 5 years of age have been screened for developmental delays and received referrals to community supports.
