ACTIVITIES
HISTORY
AN
The Hoosier Region of The Plymouth Owners Club provides many varied activities scheduled throughout the year for the enjoyment of its members. Examples of some of the activities are:
The Plymouth 4 & 6 Cylinder Owners Club, Inc. was founded in 1957 as a haven for Plymouth Owners and those who were genuinely interested in Plymouth and Fargo vehicles. Ownership of a club recognized vehicle is not a requirement for club membership.
INVITATION
One day outings to places of interest in the state or surrounding states. Displaying members’ Plymouths at various locations such as Auto shows, Nursing Homes, and/or festivals.
Social activities such as caravans to places of interest, and holiday festivities.
Meetings /outings to provide planning opportunities of future activities, and give members a chance to share ideas and suggestions regarding club operations and activities.
All members receive newsletters either by mail or e-mail notifying them of scheduled activities, and other items of interest. This is a family oriented club and members are encouraged to bring their children and/or grandchildren.
The name was changed to The Plymouth 4, 6 & 8 Cylinder Club, Inc. and then to the present: The Plymouth Owners Club, Inc.
FROM
Eventually, the by-laws have been revised to include 8 cylinder vehicles, up to and including, those at least 25 years old. National meets are co-sponsored by The Plymouth Owners Club, Inc. and a regional club. THE HOOSIER REGION National meets are held at least once a year in the Spring, Summer and/or Fall. Announcements of the meets are carried in the award winning Plymouth Bulletin, a bi-monthly publication. To be eligible to be an officer and/or to have your car judged at a National Meet you must belong to the National Plymouth Owners Club, Inc. In the fall of 1988 in Indianapolis, Indiana, six owners of Plymouth vehicles decided it was time to bring Plymouths to the attention of all Hoosiers, thus the Hoosier Region was organized and a charter obtained from the National Plymouth Owners Club. This region was organized so that those who had an interest in Plymouth vehicles could actively pursue that interest. Membership provides an opportunity to share experiences and knowledge that each owner has, at one time or another, been involved in or with their Plymouth. Accept this invitation to join with others who have the love of Plymouths and the driving enjoyment every Plymouth provides.
