Helping Hands Newsletter We are gearing up for the annual Carnival on March 18, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm! It’s an exciting (and busy) time for the committee. If you haven’t been to a Carnival before, be sure to come this year. It’s a very fun evening for families with games, prizes, food, raffles and a silent auction. To have a successful evening of fundraising, we need your help. Sign up forms will go home with your student later this month. This will allow you to sign up for a work shift and to donate bars and cakes.
What we need from parents:
1. Each year, we ask for a $2.00 per student donation to offset the cost of food for the Carnival. You can send $2.00 to your student’s teacher. You can also leave $2.00 at the school during Conferences on February 27 and March 2. The class with the highest percentage of students donating the $2.00 will earn a popcorn party! 2. WORKERS! It takes nearly 40 people per shift to make the carnival happen. This is a great volunteer opportunity for you and your older children. You can sign up on the forms that go home later with your students or email
[email protected] to offer your help. We have two shifts, 4:30 – 6:30 and 6:30 – 8:30. 3. Cakes for the Cakewalk and bars for the kitchen. You can sign up on the forms that go home later with your students or email
[email protected].
Remember, the fundraising we do is so our students do not have to solicit door-to-door selling items. Helping Hands is also able to provide some cool things for your students. We are currently saving funds to purchase more playground equipment for the new building. With only a few minutes to a couple of hours of time, you can make a difference for all the students of St. Ansgar Elementary. Please contact Heather Rysavy with your contribution for the carnival!
