Guide to Kean University Freshman Admission for International Prospective Students As an international student interested in applying to Kean University, you must be aware of the admissions processes. You need to apply for admission either online or by mail. You must submit your academic credentials to the appropriate admissions office where you wish to apply. You need to provide all immigration documents to the Office of Student and Scholar Services.

Step 1: Application Process ADMISSION PROGRAM CODE (ISA) An International Applicant is someone who is applying for (or already holds) an F-1 student visa to study in the United States or is another valid visa holder. An admission to Kean University is based on meeting both academic and financial support criteria.

Requirements: 1. Complete Online Freshman Admission Application. APPLY NOW: http://apply.kean.edu 2. Application Fee: A non-refundable check or money order of $75.00 (USD) payable to Kean University 3. Submit, in sealed envelope, Official High School Transcripts with English translation 4. Submit Official High School Transcripts Evaluation. Applicants applying for freshman admission will need a course-by course evaluation or a general report evaluation of your secondary transcript. The evaluation must come from an organization affiliated with the National Association of Credit Evaluation Services (NACES). TOEFL or IELTS (TOEFL or IELTS scores are required if English is not the applicant’s native language) a. -TOEFL: Test of English as a Foreign Language, minimum scores: - http://www.ets.org/toefl Internet based: 80; Computer based: 213; Paper based: 550 b. -IELTS: International English Language Testing System: http://www.ielts.org/ - IELTS minimum score 6.5 (Note: TOEFL/IELTS requirement is only waived if you are a native English speaker or have completed a college-level English Composition course in the US with a grade of "C" or better)

Step 2: Submit Immigration Documents As an international student applicant you will be required to hold a student visa to study in the US. You must provide all immigration documents along with your $125.00 tuition deposit before Kean University can issue your I-20 document which can be used to obtain your F-1 visa. A complete International Student I-20 Application should include the following: 1. Declaration of Current Student Status 2. Affidavit of Support 3. Sponsor’s bank statement translated into U.S. dollars. 4 Sponsor’s proof of income (Copy of pay stub OR employment letter OR local government taxes) 5. Photocopy of passport (photo and biographical information) The following documents must also be submitted if you currently, or have previously, held an F-1 visa: Photocopy of most recent US visa Photocopy of I-94 entry record Request for F-1 Status Transfer Information (if transferring from another U.S. school) Photocopy of all previous I-20 forms Please visit http://www.keaninternational.com/ for information relating to requirements needed to obtain an F-1 Student Visa.
