GUEST​ ​TEACHER​ ​ROSTER Background The​ ​district​ ​recognizes​ ​the​ ​unique​ ​nature​ ​of​ ​guest​ ​teaching​ ​and​ ​considers​ ​guest​ ​teachers​ ​an integral​ ​part​ ​of​ ​its​ ​district​ ​personnel.​ ​The​ ​service​ ​provided​ ​by​ ​our​ ​guest​ ​teachers​ ​ensures​ ​a​ ​long tradition​ ​of​ ​exemplary​ ​Catholic​ ​education.​ ​It​ ​is​ ​expected​ ​that​ ​all​ ​guest​ ​teachers​ ​will​ ​be​ ​welcomed to​ ​their​ ​assignment​ ​in​ ​district​ ​schools. Procedures Principals​ ​are​ ​expected​ ​to: 1. Ensure​ ​that​ ​regular​ ​teachers​ ​report​ ​their​ ​absences​ ​on​ ​SmartFind​ ​Express​ ​(SFE)​ ​System​ ​as early​ ​and​ ​as​ ​quickly​ ​as​ ​possible,​ ​in​ ​addition​ ​to​ ​contacting​ ​the​ ​principal​ ​or​ ​designate. Teachers​ ​are​ ​to​ ​report: 1.1

Name​ ​of​ ​school;

Date(s)​ ​when​ ​absence​ ​starts​ ​and​ ​finishes;

Reason​ ​for​ ​absence;

Special​ ​instructions;

Subjects​ ​taught;

Parking​ ​stall​ ​number,​ ​where​ ​applicable.

2. Welcome​ ​guest​ ​teachers​ ​at​ ​the​ ​beginning​ ​of​ ​their​ ​assignment. 3. Make​ ​available​ ​to​ ​guest​ ​teachers​ ​(file​ ​to​ ​be​ ​given​ ​to​ ​guest​ ​teacher​ ​upon​ ​arrival): 3.1

Detailed​ ​lesson​ ​plans​ ​for​ ​all​ ​classes​ ​and​ ​school​ ​timetable;​ ​this​ ​can​ ​be​ ​attached​ ​to​ ​the job​ ​in​ ​SmartFind​ ​Express;

3.2

Supervision​ ​assignments​ ​as​ ​required;

3.3

Seating​ ​plan​ ​for​ ​each​ ​class;

3.4

Direction​ ​regarding​ ​emergency​ ​procedures​ ​(including​ ​fire​ ​and​ ​lockdown)​ ​and​ ​special events;

3.5

Direction​ ​regarding​ ​unique​ ​school​ ​operations​ ​and​ ​procedures;

3.6

Map​ ​of​ ​school,​ ​including​ ​room​ ​numbers;

3.7

Keys​ ​as​ ​necessary;

Guest​ ​teacher​ ​report​ ​sheet;

An​ ​administrative​ ​contact.

4. Guest​ ​teachers​ ​are​ ​to​ ​be​ ​informed​ ​of​ ​the​ ​expectation​ ​that​ ​they​ ​will​ ​support​ ​the​ ​district’s Healthy​ ​Choices​ ​Initiative​ ​when​ ​working​ ​with​ ​students. 5. Introduce​ ​guest​ ​teacher​ ​to​ ​staff​ ​and​ ​students. 6. Communicate​ ​other​ ​expectations​ ​as​ ​required. 7. Guest​ ​teachers​ ​are​ ​to​ ​follow​ ​the​ ​schedule​ ​of​ ​the​ ​teacher​ ​they​ ​are​ ​replacing.​ ​Any adjustments​ ​to​ ​the​ ​schedule​ ​will​ ​be​ ​reasonable​ ​and​ ​in​ ​accordance​ ​with​ ​normal​ ​changes​ ​that may​ ​occur​ ​to​ ​the​ ​regular​ ​teacher’s​ ​schedule​ ​and​ ​will​ ​be​ ​explained​ ​to​ ​the​ ​guest​ ​teacher​ ​by the​ ​principal​ ​or​ ​designate​ ​upon​ ​request. 8. Guest​ ​teachers​ ​are​ ​to​ ​be​ ​encouraged​ ​to​ ​provide​ ​feedback​ ​to​ ​the​ ​principal​ ​regarding​ ​the guest​ ​teaching​ ​experience​ ​at​ ​the​ ​school. 9. It​ ​is​ ​required​ ​that​ ​all​ ​guest​ ​teachers​ ​wear​ ​their​ ​district​ ​ID​ ​cards. 10. All​ ​issues​ ​and/or​ ​concerns​ ​regarding​ ​guest​ ​teachers​ ​must​ ​be​ ​reported​ ​immediately​ ​to​ ​the director,​ ​human​ ​resources,​ ​at​ ​403-500-2713. Approval​ ​Date:
