How do I take attendance? Class lists are located in a separate section of this binder. Please mark those students present, absent and/or tardy.

Where are the assignments located? Assignments for American History, Geography, and the books clubs are located in the assignments section of this binder.

How do students get from class to class? Students are asked to get their morning materials first thing in the morning, before their class meeting or homeroom class. They are also allowed at locker before and after lunch, and at the end of the day. Students are asked to walk directly to their next class during all of the other passing periods. Teachers are asked to supervise students during the passing period.

What about restroom and/or drink questions? Students are asked to use their passing time to do both. Passes should only be for emergencies only!

What is our discipline plan? We use the name, check, check procedure in our classroom. Once students get to the last check they are asked to sit at the reflection seat and fill out a reflection form. We then discuss the reflection form to redirect the student. I try and take care of all behavior issues in the room, with the student. Office referrals are saved for blatant disrespect to adults, physical fighting, or excessively disruptive red-flag behaviors. There are copies of both the reflection form and office referrals in the forms section of this binder.

How do we do lunch? At 10:55 dismiss the class that is in your room (AM History Class 2) and they will go to their lockers. You are to head to the cafeteria to supervise that class while they eat lunch from 11:00 to 11:15. The students then have recess time (or time to hang out, either outside or in the gym). This is from 11:15 to 11:45. This is your duty free lunch time and they are supervised by others.

How do we dismiss? At the end of the day, please wait for announcements for dismissal. Walkers and pick-ups are called first and then the buses are called.

Emergency Plans: Fire Drill: Exit out the door to the hallway turning towards the cafeteria. Use the cafeteria door to exit out towards the back playground. Tornado Drill: Exit out the classroom door. Turn left and use the hallway in front of the classroom. Inside Lockdown: This code means there is a threat to the school from the inside (hallways/classrooms). Teachers are asked to lock the classroom door, and turn off the classroom light. Students and adults in the room are asked to sit on the hallway wall, hiding themselves from the sight of the hallway door. Voice level 0 is expected- NO talking. Outside Lockdown: This code means there is a threat to the school from the outside. Teachers are asked to close all windows and turn off the classroom light. Students and adults in the room are asked to sit on the floor under the windows, hiding themselves from someone looking in the windows. Voice level 0 is expected – NO talking.
