Dear Friends, Thank you for your commitment to service! We look forward to working with your group. Your help ensures more D.C. residents have access to the resources they need to live with dignity and respect, and we’re grateful for your support. Group Scheduling Procedures (updated December 2017)
Note:
Special considerations are given to Bread for the City’s corporate partners. The guidelines below do not apply to organizations and individuals who have donated $5,000 or more to support our work.

Additional Notes • During the winter season, limited space is available for large groups. • City Orchard, Sunday Produce Sort, Farmers Market, Rooftop Garden, and Holiday Helpings are seasonal activities and may not be available at the time of your request. • Large group activities are normally completed in two hours or less.
• Groups interested in City Orchard, Sunday Produce Sort, Rooftop Garden, Farmers Market, and Holiday Helpings may sign up through the Bread for the City website using our online shift calendar. • Groups interested in serving in the clothing room may serve between 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm on Monday – Thursday. When needed, space may present on a Saturday for group service. Groups may reserve space for these occasional weekend opportunities through our online shift calendar. • Volunteer slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please know other groups and individuals may be present and working with your group. • The computer will not accept your reservation if you indicate a number of volunteers that is higher than the remaining number of volunteer spots. Contact a Volunteer Program staff member for approval on an increased number of available slots. • Group leaders with lesser computer literacy or comfort are welcome to schedule with a Volunteer Program staff member. • Though we do our best to accommodate all groups, space is limited, and needs are variable. We hope you will consider another time period if your desired slot is unavailable. Thank you!
