Greenwood & Fairview Cemetery Monument repairs HALTON HILLS, ON – The Town of Halton Hills is carrying out cemetery monument repairs in both Greenwood Cemetery in Georgetown and Fairview Cemetery in Acton. This work involves dis-assembling large cemetery monuments that are leaning and a safety concern, pouring new concrete foundations for the monuments and re-installing them straight on the new foundation. “This work will ensure public safety within our cemeteries and preserve the look of the monuments for years to come,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette The work will be taking place in three phases. The first phase, professionally disassembling and lowering the leaning monument sections has been completed. The second phase will take place in the spring with pouring new proper concrete foundations. The third phase will be the professional re-assembly of the monuments so they are vertical and safe. Anticipated completion of this project is early summer 2017.
