7th Grade UNIT 4 OVERVIEW: Waves of Change Key Vocabulary

Unit Outcomes At the end of this unit, your student should be able to:  Analyze various texts in order to identify text structures, themes, point of view, and how different authors treat the same subject.  Compare connotations and denotations of words.  Engage in research and the writing process to produce an I-Search paper on a topic related to the theme of revolutions.  Access a variety of sources, including books and online texts, take notes, and incorporate information into the I-Search paper, citing sources in a Works Cited page.  Engage in the writing process to produce an informative/explanatory piece of writing.  Write literary analyses and reflections with textual evidence relating the unit theme and guiding questions to the featured text and content.
