GPNA is in strong support of Jennifer Chappell's concept for the Three Points Beautification Project. We believe the area chosen for the mural and landscape upgrades is most fitting and, when in place, will give explanation of how the three historic neighborhoods actually join together at a given point. An interesting aspect of the discussion that has taken place around this project is the success those talks have generated in an added way. The leaders of SACC, GPNA and SPNA have agreed to work in a collegial manner on this and on broader area issues. Each of us ask you both as proven city and neighborhood leaders to consider how well this overall beautification project and the major new mural tie to the improvements happening in the area immediately north and east of the project area. Consider the city's recent votes that have allowed the Old Antique Mall on Goss to move forward to see it converted to a major new housing development with numerous other additions that once in place will allow neighborhood access. We are all aware of the city's role in right now moving forward to develop an exciting new plan that calls for the city and neighbors to partner in agreeing upon and then overseeing major changes and new upgrades along the CSX Railway Corridor. This corridor runs adjacent to the project area and the historic dual tracks run through the 3 neighborhoods. Finally there is the Goss Avenue Beautification Project that is in its early phase of implementation. It is a cause that is coordinated via Councilman King, GPNA and SACC and it too is happening now.. So the best timing that connects best with all this activity is to move on Jennifer's project now. GPNA asks the councilmen to step forward to help make this important concept a reality. We want most for the drawing to be taken from paper only and become completed. Thanks for your consideration.
