Google Radio Advertising Portfolio For Sale Summary Google is seeking to divest of certain patents which no longer align with our core businesses. Google believes other operating companies are in a better position to utilize these patents to further innovate and defend their businesses as needed. These patents are initially being offered to a select group of operating companies and will not be offered to nonpracticing entities (NPE’s).
The Technology Google acquired dMarc Broadcasting, Inc. in 2006. dMarc connected advertisers directly to radio stations through its automated advertising platform. Google announced its plans to integrate dMarc technology into the Google AdWords platform, creating a new radio ad distribution channel for Google advertisers. The patents being offered are a result of certain Google investments and innovations related to these radio advertising efforts. The portfolio includes patents related to the targeted distribution of advertisements within a broadcast system as well as the generation and distribution of enhanced radio content within a broadcast system. Content can include news, weather, traffic, emergency alerts, as well as advertising and can be distributed in text, audio, and multimedia formats. The portfolio further includes patents related to certain aspects of content auctions including forecasting, bidding, preemption, and scheduling as well the management of advertising campaigns. The portfolio discloses utilizing many types of broadcast systems including AM/FM radio, satellite, cellular, and the internet.

A system for broadcasting advertisements to a plurality of users, the system comprising: a data store adapted to store information about a plurality of time slots for broadcasting advertisements by one or more radio stations; a user interface module adapted to receive an advertisement for broadcasting and one or more userselected criteria according to which to broadcast the advertisement; and a server system adapted to automatically select one or more of the plurality of time slots for
broadcasting the advertisement according to the one or more userselected criteria and to electronically transmit the advertisement to the one or more radio stations for the selected time slot in real time.
US Patent 7,313,359 32. A dynamic data delivery method for providing enhanced radio content to one or more receiving devices, the method comprising: receiving at least one nonradio input; receiving an input indicating a selection of receiving devices; generating the enhanced radio content by dynamic manipulation of the nonradio input into one or more formats for radio broadcast based on broadcast type accessible by the selected receiving devices; and routing the enhanced radio content through one or more of a plurality of possible distribution channels for broadcast to the selected receiving devices based on broadcast type accessible by the selected receiving devices.
