Ways to Use the Array Cards:
1. Play “War”: Students divide the cards up evenly between the two partners (without looking at any of the cards in their pile). Then, each student flips a card up (either a candy array card, or the gingerbread answer card - it doesn’t matter) Whichever partner has the card that shows the greatest amount takes both cards and places them on the bottom of their pile. 2. Play “Memory Match”: Have a pair of students create two sections of cards (cards should be spread out in front of them, not piled on top of each other) one section will have all the gingerbread men and the other section will be made up of all the array cards. When it is their turn, a student flips up one card from each section. If they are a match, the student keeps the match, if not, the student flips the cards back over and the next student tries to find a match. 3. Center Match: If you would like these cards to be used by students individually, simply place all cards together in a baggie at a math center. Students then just match up the cards and show their work on the provided recording sheet.
