NFIR's letter No. lUZ9/Part VI dated 24126-08-2016. addressedto GSATTFIR. Railway Board's letter No.€*(W):OtOnC ll dated2011212016
With reference t.o the reply received from the Railway Board vide letter dated 2011212016,the Federation conveys as follows:-
In response to the suggestions made vide Federation's letter of even number dated 24126-:08-2016, surprisingly, it has been stated that the General Managers have been empowered to frame rules for running of Institutes/Clubs as per local requirements and other circumstances of the place. Unfortunately, Federation's proposal has not been taken into consideration in a right perspective.
-
In the field due to frequent elections, rivalries are growing which is hampering the work culture as the interested parties vitiate atmosphere due to election politics rather than staff welfare as well staff duties and responsibilities.
-
Unless and until, Railway Board takes a conscious decision with regard to periodicity of elections as well tenure of elected bodies in the interest of Railways, the disturbed atmosphereat the field level would continue harming the efficiency of working system.
'
In fact, the proposal since made by the Federation should have been initiated by the Railway Administration in the overall interest of Railway efficiency. The Federation however re-iterates that the Board may take into consideration the atmosphereof elections in India, the ambition of people and the expenditure involved for fighting elections and how the voters are tempted to vote to particular individuaUteams. NFIR, therefore, once again requests the Railway Board to take a realistic view and advise GMs suitably, the necessity of revising the tenure period of elected bodies for the purpose of ensuring healthy atrnosphereat work places.
