PNB FRAUD FALLOUT: CBI SEALS BRADY HOUSE BRANCH IN MUMBAI The CBI on Monday sealed the Brady House Branch of the Punjab National Bank as multiple probe agencies continued with their probe into the Rs 11,515 crore fraud, according to officials. The Central Bureau of Investigation pasted an official notice outside the branch in Fort -- the bank's flagship lending window in Mumbai and its second largest national outlet. All have been barred from opening or entering inside this branch without prior permission of the CBI or the CBI Special Court or the CBI Competent Authority. The Rotomac loan default case would touch Rs 3,695 crore,including interest, according to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials who are looking into the case. The CBI on Monday raided several locations in Kanpur in connection with the loan default by the Rotomac Pen company's chief Vikram Kothari, his wife and son, an official said. A case was also filed against the three and some unidentified bank officials on Sunday night. Earlier, it was stated by investigator that the default would amount to Rs 800 crore. However, in the complaint filed by the the Bank of Baroda, it was alleged that a consortium of seven banks had been cheated by Kothari and his company by siphoning off Rs 2,919 crore taken as loan. Total outstanding amount, along with interest, would amount to Rs 3,695 crore, a CBI official, who did not want to be identified, said. Kothari is the Chairman and Managing Director of the Kanpur-based Rotomac Global Private Limited which had obtained

the money from the consortium of banks. His wife Sadhana and son Rahul are directors of the company. The CBI also sealed a residential premises and an office of Rotomac directors in New Delhi. Fadnavis said the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council was setting up a gem and jewellery park near Mumbai which would bring in investments worth Rs 14,000 crore. Washington DC: Variation in female sex hormones could be linked to the development of allergies and asthma, according to experts. Analysis of studies involving more than 500,000 women highlights a link between asthma symptoms and key life changes such as puberty and menopause. Further investigation could help explain why asthma is more common in boys than girls in childhood, but more common in teenage girls and women following puberty. Experts say, however, that the relationship is inconclusive and call for more research. Asthma is a disease of the airways that can seriously restrict breathing and is often associated with allergies. Many women report that their asthma symptoms change with their menstrual cycle, which may be down to variations in levels of hormones, including estrogen and progesterone, but the link is unclear. Researchers at the University

of Edinburgh reviewed more than 50 studies of women with asthma from puberty to 75 years of age. They found that starting periods before turning 11 years old, as well as irregular periods, was associated with a higher rate of asthma. Onset of menopause when periods stop and oestrogen and progesterone levels fluctuate - was also associated with a higher chance of having asthma compared with pre menopause. Scientists say the link between asthma and hormonal drugs including HRT and contraceptives is unclear and women should continue to take medications as prescribed by their GP. The researchers plan to study the biological processes through which sex hormones might play a role in asthma and allergy. Prince’s parents have performed really well. However, a fine artiste like BN Sharma should have been given a non-repetitive and stereotype role. As the main reel couple, Rubina Bajwa and Roshan Prince, well Pollywood gets a new filmi jodi. At this marriage ceremony, we are not treated to unnecessary songs, emotional drama or uncalled for romance. The climax of the film bears the Smeep Kang signature. You’d find the ‘chase me if you can’ bit here as well, though editing is crisp in Laavan Phere.
